That's your lot for this live page. Brilliant again from Lewis Hamilton to make it five wins out of seven this season and gain a 47-point lead in the drivers' championship.

Not much time for the drivers to dwell on this one though as the next race is next week.

We'll be live on Friday morning with all the news from first practice for the Italian Grand Prix.

Thanks for joining us and for your comments. Until next time, goodbye for now.

  2. 'I really, really would like to have more of a fight'published at 16:43 British Summer Time 30 August 2020

More from race winner Lewis Hamilton: "It is remarkable what the team is doing and what we are doing together. We are continuing to push the envelope and it feels great to finish on a high this weekend, particularly with Chad (Chadwick Boseman) dying because he made everyone feel like a superhero.

"Today was really [about] tyres. Everyone doing this one stop thing is really boring. At the end of the day we are all managing out there, which is not racing. At the end we are backing off, maybe it would have been fine but it was too big a risk today.

"I really, really would like to have more of a fight, but that is not on me."

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton dominated the Belgian Grand Prix to take his fifth victory in seven races this year and the 89th of his career.

Hamilton headed team-mate Valtteri Bottas to a Mercedes one-two, from Red Bull's Max Verstappen.

The victory puts Hamilton 48 points - almost two clear wins - ahead of Verstappen in the championship.

The Briton is two victories away from Michael Schumacher's all-time record and set to equal his seven titles.

The good news for Sainz is he only has to put up with these engine issues for the rest of the season.

The bad news is he is in the Ferrari next year.

  6. 'We cannot expect miracles'published at 16:29 British Summer Time 30 August 2020

Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel, who finished 13th: "We have two important weeks coming up. We also have to be realistic and cannot expect miracles. The package is what it is and we have to focus on the good things, even if there are not many.

"It was difficult to have a decent pace this race and this weekend. There are lots of things we learned and we have to stay calm and not frustrated because frustrated normally doesn't lead you anywhere.

"Next is Monza, it means a lot to us and we have to keep fighting."

  7. Hamilton extends his title leadpublished at 16:27 British Summer Time 30 August 2020

Lewis Hamilton's lead is at a huge 47 points now. He needs one more race to take place in 2020 for this to be definitely classed as a world championship season.

He is very much closing in on world title number seven.

Seven gone, 10 more to go.

Recently the final four races of the 2020 season were announced to bring the total to 17 races this year.

It's a return to Istanbul, two races in two weeks in Bahrain and then the season-ender in Abu Dhabi.

Next up is an Italian double-header over the next two weeks, beginning with Monza, in what is usually Ferrari's home race, and then Mugello at Ferrari's home track.

McLaren's Lando Norris, who finished seventh, speaking to Sky Sports: "For me, engine side of things we were having to be a lot more conservative than we would have liked to be. We just had to get on with the race."

    Hamilton wins Belgian Grand Prix

Lee Abrahams: Enjoy Lewis Hamilton whilst you can. Makes winning look so so easy. Bottas can’t get anywhere near him. We are watching a legend each and every week. History in the making. Just incredible and relentless performance.

Srinath: Can we try a reverse grid next time? I am sure Hamilton will still win but at least there will be some overtaking and interest for the fans?

Joanna Shepherd: Mercedes - what a team! What a drive from Lewis Hamilton. Who is going to collect the Constructors trophy for Mercedes?

A routine race. Hamilton under no pressure, Bottas under no pressure, Verstappen under no pressure.

  13. 'Pretty boring. Not much to do'published at 16:03 British Summer Time 30 August 2020

Max Verstappen, who finished third: "It was pretty boring. Not much to do. I couldn't keep up with them when they started pushing.

"The last eight laps I was just backing it out and saving the tyres. It was not really enjoyable out there today. It was a bit lonely. Maybe it is not the most satisfying P3 but it is still better than nothing.

"We had no tyres left at the end and I was not taking any risks. We just maximised what we could."

  14. 'Lewis is faultless'published at 16:00 British Summer Time 30 August 2020

Valtteri Bottas, who finished second: "Of course at the start it would have been a good opportunity but Lewis played it well and I couldn’t really get a momentum. Those two things were the difference.

"There was also a tail wind into Turn Five and it was the same after the restart, I just couldn’t catch him on the straight. Lewis is driving mistake-free.

"Actually I had no clue about that [Mercedes' radio message about not racing each other] They may have said that at some point but I don’t recall.

"I think Lewis was faultless today and yesterday he was quick. It was a clean weekend for me. I’m just happy there’s an opportunity again next weekend."

  15. 'I was nervous it might have been like Silverstone at the end'published at 15:56 British Summer Time 30 August 2020

Race winner Lewis Hamilton: "It wasn't the easiest of races. I had a lock up into Turn 5 which started to give a bit of vibration and the tyre temps were slowly dropping. It was a bit of a struggle but nonetheless I think it was OK. I was a little nervous we might have something like at Silverstone with the tyre so I was nursing it.

"I know it is not necessarily what everyone wants to see - the Mercedes at the front - but no matter how much success we have to just keep our heads down. When I go back to the office now no-one is celebrating, it is heads down and thinking about the next race. It is an incredible mentality.

"I am 35 going towards 36 but I feel better than ever. That is a positive and I am really grateful to the team."
