Mark Duffell: ‘I’m not just sitting here like a grandma’. Early contender for quote of the day from a fired up Max Verstappen. Understandable.
James Hammond: Well in. [Verstappen radio message] I'm a Hamilton fan, but this is the attitude you want to see in F1, and why I'm looking forward to 2022 so much.
Bottas is now on the hard tyres and rejoins the action in sixth. Hamilton now pits too and also goes on the hards, the tyre Verstappen started the race on.

The rear tyres of Lewis Hamilton look manky. Big blisters. Max Verstappen might have a shot here...
Verstappen launches an attack at Lewis Hamilton. Not long after Bottas pits from the lead so Verstappen v Hamilton is for the lead.
Bottas leads from Hamilton
Reece Young: Bottas not managing this nearly as well as Hamilton did last year. He's allowing V, externalerstappen into this race.
"The rears are finished," says Lewis Hamilton. Lap 12 of 52. Is this going to be a three-stop race? We were expecting two stops from everyone, but these tyres just have so little life in them.
Max Verstappen is told to back off and watch his tyres. "This is the only chance we've got to be close to Mercedes," is his no-nonsense response.
Not what the team strategist wants to hear, but probably what everyone expects to hear from such a great racer.
Racing Point team radio to Nico Hulkenberg: "We are still on plan A. We are on target."
Hulkenberg is running fourth.
Sebastian Vettel was an early spinner, but has since clawed back six spots to move from last to 14th. Charles Leclerc eighth. No longer are Ferrari contenders, just wedged in as one of the midfielders now.
Lando Norris has gained three spots. He was not happy with qualifying in 10th, so hopefully will be a bit happier at his current spot of seventh.

All the people who have come in to put on the hard tyres have a team-mate out there already running it, so their teams will have had the chance to make a direct comparison and make a decision.
Bottas' lead is 1.1 seconds over Lewis Hamilton, who is 1.3 seconds clear of Max Verstappen. Then there's already a huge gap of eight seconds to the Racing Point pair, with Nico Hulkenberg fourth and Lance Stroll fifth.
Vettel spins on opening lap
Simon Baker: Vettel is kind of in a no-win situation at Ferrari, he's half out of the team with the announcement during the lockdown, so the team won't give him all information, not nice.
John K Wilkinson: I promise you Ferrari, I won’t spin at the first corner. And I’ll drive for you for 100 thousand a year.
An early flurry of pit stops. Pierre Gasly, who started seventh, is another one in for an early change.
Alexander Albon has had enough of these mediums and bins them after only seven laps. On to the hards, but they won't go the full distance so that's a guaranteed two-stop at least for him.
Who had six laps on the sweepstake before we hear of tyre problems? A couple of Bottas' tyres are already at the 'critical' stage. He's at the front and was of those to suffer a late puncture last week.

All the data points that the Ferrari team are seeing on the pit wall show that there is no damage to Sebastian Vettel's car.

Hamilton has just nudged within a second of his team-mate, he is putting a whole heap of pressure on Bottas. He is not close enough to make a lunge...yet.
