It's had the feeling of something is going to happen all weekend. It's all been brewing up for this moment.
I'm a little bit surprised to see everyone on the medium tyres, though.
Hamilton alongside Verstappen, Hamilton very, very briefly into the lead, but Verstappen regains the lead.
This start is going to be crucial. Can Verstappen hold off the Mercedes pair in second and third?

Lewis Hamilton has never finished lower than second at Silverstone in the hybrid era.
And Max Verstappen has led 70% of all the laps so far this season.
It really is a titanic battle.
Here's the formation lap, with a space in the spot reserved for the 20th driver left blank.
After sprint qualifying, and a penalty for George Russell, this is how we begin. Sergio Perez, remember, starts from the pits.

Fernando Alonso... one of the best opening laps of all time yesterday?
Am I being a bit dramatic there?

Rachel T: Loving all the pre-race build up & really missing not being there this year! COME ON LEWIS!!!
Well, we're hearing that all 19 are starting on the track are on the mediums. Mercedes opting against a different strategy for their two drivers in their pursuit of pole position man Max Verstappen.
Sergio Perez, from the pits, may be on the hards.
We have the three hardest compounds in the Pirelli box and they say those on the mediums will want to move to the hards between the lap 18-25 mark, while those on the softs will need to ditch them between lap 14 and lap 18.

Strategy-wise, this should be straightforward. It’s a clear one-stop race. Start-tyre choice for the Grand Prix is free under the sprint weekend regulations, and most are expected to run a medium-hard tyre choice.
Fernando Alonso benefited from running the soft in Saturday’s race and using its grip advantage on the first lap to gain a lot of positions. This might tempt some to do the same. But two things go against it.
Firstly, not everyone is Alonso, and few - if any - would be able to do what he did in passing so many cars in the style he did. Secondly, temperatures are even hotter today - the forecast is for 29C ambient and 50C track -which means the soft will be even more fragile.
A pit stop takes about 19 seconds under racing conditions, about 10 or 11 under safety car. And overtaking is hard.

Lewis Hamilton has the inside line today - the same line Verstappen used to pass during the sprint race yesterday, so Lewis has to be focused on doing exactly the same thing.
There is pressure on him but he's driving as well as ever. The lap he did on Friday was so good, he was absolutely in his element. Somehow, Hamilton has to use that pace to attack Verstappen - because he couldn't manage it on equal terms yesterday.
This was how the drivers paid their tributes to the frontline heroes as well.
