Ben Silveston: Great drive so far from @Charles_Leclerc, external . Even though he's overall an outside winner today. This may not so easy for @LewisHamilton, external . Especially now with that (rather soft) 10-second time penalty.

Amit Mandalia: It’s good to see that Ferrari are actually racing this one and not just conceding the position like most teams seem to do when there is a Mercedes or Red Bull behind them.

Valtteri Bottas is now ahead of Lando Norris after their respective pit stops. Norris has passed him once on the track, he has to do so again. They're fourth and fifth respectively, but Sainz in third will fall behind them when he pits.

  8. Postpublished at Lap 24/52

Leclerc, Hamilton, Sainz is how we stand, but none of those three have pitted, with Hamilton having a 10-second penalty to deal with too.

    Jolyon Palmer
Former Renault driver on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

It's probably gone now for Lando Norris and that will probably allow Lewis Hamilton to take his 20 seconds and be right with Lando.

That's agonising for McLaren and Norris.

  10. Postpublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 18 July 2021

Now it's Bottas in from third. Norris' stop was six seconds, Bottas away in 2.2 and that could just be the difference between a podium or not later on.

  11. Postpublished at Lap 22/52

McLaren bring in Lando Norris a lap after Daniel Ricciardo but it's a slow stop, he loses four seconds and that may have cost him third place with that one.

The right rear is the tricky tyre to replace.

What a British Grand Prix this has been so far. We're not even at halfway yet. The drama, well, even more drama, is still to come.

  13. Team radio - Hamiltonpublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 18 July 2021

Hamilton: "Blisters on both sides now."

Engineer: "Copy Lewis. Some stops are starting to happen now."

Ricciardo, from fifth, is the first of the top six to pit.

BBC Radio 5 Live F1 commentator

Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris are both having great races, but Daniel Ricciardo is struggling to stay anywhere near Valtteri Bottas.

Bottas isn't able to get past Norris but on paper, Ricciardo should still be in that queue.
