Pierre Gasly will surely get a penalty. Lance Stroll lost six tenths to Gasly on the last lap, He is now going to be hunting down Stroll's team-mate ahead.

The incident between Lance Stroll and Pierre Gasly is going to looked at by the stewards. The Frenchman is still ahead of the Aston Martin driver for now.

Max Verstappen is given the instruction to "break the tow" but his engineer adds the world champion is doing a "great job" as race leader.

Carlos Sainz just did a personal best on the last lap on his softs, but still slower than all the cars ahead but an improvement from him at least.
Still six seconds covers the top four. It is tight, a little bit cagey at the moment.

Lance Stroll has another issue to deal with - Pierre Gasly. The Alpha Tauri man makes his move on the Canadian and the pair go wide off the track. Gasly, for now, is staying in that 15th spot, while Stroll has to settle for 16th.
Sliding everywhere man, I have no grip.

Max Verstappen is still out ahead of the field, with a 1.745secs advantage over 2021 foe Lewis Hamilton. The Mercedes is knocking on the door though and adds another fastest lap to his growing Mexico collection.

Andrew Priestley: Lewis and George could be on shiny new softs for the last stint of this race when the Red Bull’s are on the slower mediums. The Red Bull is the far superior car, but the strategy could be all important. It all depends on the gap they can build before then.

Lap nine ticks by and Zhou Guanyu's time in 12th place has come to an end. Daniel Ricciardo has DRS and the McLaren sails past the Alfa Romeo to claim his spot.
