  6. Tyre talkpublished at 18:58 British Summer Time 5 May 2023

We go from the softest tyres in the Pirelli range used in Baku to the compounds in the middle of the pack for this weekend's Miami Grand Prix.

Teams will be able to select from the C2 (white, hard), C3 (yellow, medium) and the C4 (red, soft) as drivers tackle a circuit that has been resurfaced and some sweltering track temperatures.

  7. Two DRS zones reducedpublished at 18:56 British Summer Time 5 May 2023

The FIA has made a few tweaks to the DRS zones for the Miami Grand Prix this weekend, reducing the first two of three zones by 75 metres, while the final DRS boost onto the start-finish straight remains untouched.

The DRS reduction down the main straight in Azerbaijan was not met with positive reviews from drivers or team bosses, with many feeling the lack of overtaking opportunities resulted in a "boring" race.

  8. Upgraded packagepublished at 18:53 British Summer Time 5 May 2023

    Andrew Benson
BBC Sport’s chief F1 writer in Miami

Very few declared upgrades in Miami. At the front, the biggest is Ferrari’s new floor. Of the rest of the top four, the only other admitted upgrade is modified cooling louvres on the Aston Martin for the heat in south Florida.

    Ferrari - floor

    Alfa Romeo - beam wing

    Aston Martin - cooling louvres

Alpha Tauri - front wing, sidepod inlet

    Haas - floor

  9. Red Bull out in frontpublished at 18:49 British Summer Time 5 May 2023

With two drivers scoring points in both the sprint event and the full grand prix in Baku, Red Bull are pulling away from the rest of the constructors at the top of the standings with a 93-point lead over Aston Martin in second place.

Mercedes are still sitting in third, Ferrari are in fourth spot and McLaren stay in fifth place thanks to Lando Norris bringing home two points for the team.

  10. Perez closes gap on Verstappenpublished at 18:46 British Summer Time 5 May 2023

While it was still another Red Bull one-two finish in Azerbaijan, Sergio Perez's perfect weekend means the top of the drivers' championship has now been cut down to just six points between himself and Red Bull buddy Max Verstappen.

Charles Leclerc's second in the sprint and third in the main race handed the Ferrari driver 22 points in total in Baku, lifting him up the order from joint 10th with Haas' Nico Hulkenberg to sixth behind team-mate Carlos Sainz in fifth and above George Russell of Mercedes.

The start of the 2023 season has been a torrid one for Charles Leclerc and his Ferrari, with no podium finishes in the first three races and retirements at the opener Bahrain and the grand prix in Australia.

A clean weekend was in desperate need for the Monegasque driver and after securing pole position in both the sprint event and the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Leclerc managed to finish in the top three on Saturday and Sunday to boost his championship ratings.

The Mexican flag was waved high and proud after Sergio Perez cemented his title as the King of the Streets with a skilful drive at last Sunday's Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Perez, who started P3, was able to fight off the attack from world champion Max Verstappen thanks to making his pit stop under the safety car, which was deployed after Alpha Tauri driver Nyck de Vries hit the wall on lap 10.

It was a very fruitful weekend overall for Perez, who also won the first sprint race of the season 24 hours earlier, adding another eight points to his championship tally.

  14. Miami heatpublished at 18:30 British Summer Time 5 May 2023

    Or maybe not.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix did not bring its usual mix of chaotic entertainment fans have become accustomed to over the last few seasons.

Formula 1 now moves on quickly to the heat of South Beach and the second running of the Miami Grand Prix - a race that didn't quite match up to the razzmatazz going on off the track in 2022.

But wait. There could a dark cloud waiting to spring some thundery showers on the Florida circuit for Sunday's 57-lap event...
