Charles Leclerc makes it to the line but he can't knock Max Verstappen off his perch. Second place for the Monegasque driver.
The Ferrari of Carlos Sainz took pole position at Silverstone last year but can the Scuderia do it again today? Charles Leclerc is looking swift through the first sector.
Here we go then. Max Verstappen is the driver to beat for the best seat in the house for tomorrow's British Grand Prix.

SJ: I hope they keep DRS off during this whole quali! It really slows down the Red Bull.

Let's see who can be the top Brit at Silverstone - we have Norris, Albon, Hamilton and Russell all out there!
First driver to complete their flying lap is George Russell who clocks a 1:28.184 but his team-mate Lewis Hamilton beats that easily.
Alex Albon pops up in the top three just as Max Verstappen crosses the line to go onto provisional pole. A 1:27.084 is the marker to chase.
Lewis Hamilton is purple in the first sector but the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc has taken the middle section.
The crowd will go wild of a British driver claims pole position for Sunday's race. Soft tyres for all of the top 10 as Daddy Hamilton watches on from the Mercedes garage.

Tim Marshall: Mclaren and Williams in the top 10 reminds me of when I started watching F1 back in the earlier 1990s… those were the days!
Peter: How about Stroll being shown the door - highly unlikely, obviously, but he's looking a bit silly next to Alonso.
Esteban Ocon and Lance Stroll had a bit of argy-bargy on track during the end of Q2.
Who is taking pole position? No more rain and DRS has been tagged back in.

McLaren look very strong but I am surprised by Alonso - both sessions towards the end he looked vulnerable of getting knocked out.
Max Verstappen topped the timesheets in that Q2 session but behind the Dutchman? Who would've predicted Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris and Alex Albon.
Are we set for a shock grid for tomorrow's British Grand Prix?
11. Nico Hulkenberg (Haas)
12. Lance Stroll (Aston Martin)
13. Esteban Ocon (Alpine)
14. Logan Sargeant (Williams)

David Williams: GO ON LANDO!!
Andrew Priestley: Lando Norris a dark horse for a home Grand Prix pole position? Max Verstappen will want to play the role of chief party pooper.
One Alpine saves itself and it's Pierre Gasly. George Russell is sweating. Can he make it? Just! The Mercedes driver qualifies in 10th for the shootout.
