The rain is absolutely chucking it down where I am but the conditions look stable at Silverstone. Logan Sargeant makes it into the top 10 as Charles Leclerc fumes at his engineer that he is pushing as hard as he can.

Cameron: I think Silverstone seems to be suiting the Williams guys to perfection this weekend. Just look at Albon and Sargeant go, I'd be surprised if they're not on the pace tomorrow in the race.
11. Esteban Ocon (Alpine)
12. Nico Hulkenberg (Haas)
13. Lance Stroll (Aston Martin)
14. Logan Sargeant (Williams)

These opportunities do not come often for Williams and Albon is putting the car top two this weekend - Logan Sargeant has got to be aiming for Q3.
The crowd roar again. This time it's for Lando Norris, who goes half a second quicker than Lewis Hamilton.
Surely Lewis Hamilton won't be knocked out in Q2 at Silverstone?
No, of course not. The king of the British Grand Prix shoots to the top of the board from 12th place.
George Russell isn't exactly breathing a sigh of relief. The other British Mercedes driver is just hanging on to the top-10 drivers.
Meanwhile, in the fast part of the timesheets, Oscar Piastri is the new quickest runner with a time in the 1:28s for McLaren.
11. Nico Hulkenberg (Haas)
12. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes)
13. Lance Stroll (Aston Martin)
14. Logan Sargeant (Williams)

Alex Albon again. The Williams is just a tenth off Fernando Alonso's best marker. Albon for the front row this weekend?
Fernando Alonso is down in 11th place but is rapid in the middle sector. He takes the final corner and goes quickest overall with a time four-tenths better than the McLaren of Lando Norris.

Andrew Priestley: That’s simply not good enough from Sergio Perez in the machinery he has under him. 5 Grand Prix Qualifyings in succession without a Q3 appearance in a car which is the class of the field.
Hu: That’s Perez losing his seat for sure.
The Aston Martin time is beaten straight away by Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari but here comes a chrome McLaren. it's Lando Norris, who goes to the top of the timesheets with a 1:29.427 on the softs.
Max Verstappen and Pierre Gasly both try and beat the Briton but no dice, Lando stays quickest.
"It's really slippery."
First marker thrown down is Fernando Alonso on the softs with a 1:30.660.
A different view of the weather conditions over at Red Bull, who tell Max Verstappen there are still a few spots of rain knocking around Silverstone.

Predictions are still Max Verstappen to be at the front, I still believe he will be on pole. I think Alonso will join him on the front row with Leclerc in third.

Matthew Murnaghen: WHAT A Q1 FINISH! Absolutely amazing!
Larry Jay: Verstappen thought the pit wall was going to get Pole position for tomorrow's race.
Ash Tezoo: Poor Q1 for APEX GP, not even managing to set a time thus far…
"No more rain," says Lando Norris' engineer.
Only one Red Bull in this session.
