    PENALTY MAYO!

Ryan O'Donoghue is taken down from Frank Burns, who is pleading his innocence but it is high and worthy of a yellow card, which is what he receives.

O'Donoghue gets up to take the free, it drops inside the square and it's on the line it's carnage and Burns picks it up straight off the ground!

Enda Hession is on for Mayo in the hope that he will provoke a spark like he did last time out. Michael Plunkett is the man to make way.

    Just look at it.

Sitting there in all its glory.

The Sam Maguire is what they're playing for at Croke Park.

It's finely balanced at the interval - who will get their hands on this trophy come full time?

This young Tyrone fan certainly looks to be enjoying their evening.

That first half was played at such a fantastic pace with loads of talking points - exactly what we wanted. I can't wait for the second half as there will no doubt be even more drama. Neither of these sides will give up, they will go right to the end even if it means extra time.

That's a half high on drama, high on incident, but low on quality. Niall Morgan has handled more ball than anyone and has easily been the most influential player on the park thus far. Mayo cannot curtail his forward forays which are the fulcrum of so many Tyrone attacks. Lee Keegan is doing a number on Conor McKenna so far, while Darren McCurry has 0-3 that should be 1-3. That was a huge chance, and was a certain goal only for Rob Hennelly's big toe. Mayo themselves have fluffed a couple of goal chances. With Darragh Canavan and Cathal McShane yet to be sprung, this is Tyrone's to lose.

The game is going perfectly to plan for Tyrone thus far, with it being played on their terms. Mayo are falling into the same trap they Kerry did as they are getting turned over between the Tyrone 21 and 45, with the Red Hands then counter-attacking with purpose. James Horan has got to try and change the narrative in this contest if Mayo are going to end their long famine.

A two-point deficit is small beer to Mayo, of course.

They of the six-point second half comeback against Dublin merely sneer at two points.

Tyrone have their noses in front but no more than that. This one is going to be close the whole way through.

Niall Sludden only wants to score beautiful points in this match. He has a second from the other flank this time after Peter Harte takes a quick free instead of inviting Niall Morgan up to take.

Mayo come back for another one before the break, Padraig O'Hora romps forward but is brought down by Kieran McGeary *just* outside the square.

Oh that was marginal. Ryan O'Donoghue sends over another free and that will be half-time.

Tyrone lead by two, pulsating game.

Mayo seeking one final point before the break. It's the first time they've enjoyed possession in midfield for a long time but Tyrone are so organised and disciplined it requires ultra-patience from Mayo.

The Connacht champions are up to the challenge, as Stephen Coen takes advantage of a yard's space to send it over.

Tyrone are starting to purr, their handling has been really good and Darren McCurry has been getting the better of Padraig O'Hora in that battle so far, drawing a foul from his man again.

He dusts himself down to take the free himself and makes no mistake.

Mayo haven't scored in 10 minutes and it's just given Tyrone the opportunity to nudge themselves into the ascendancy.

Aidan O'Shea wins them a free and Ryan O'Donoghue breaks the lean spell with another free. His kicking has been flawless thus far.

    HUGE GOAL CHANCE!

That's as route one as it comes, a brilliant ball from Niall Morgan sends Darren McCurry clean through. With O'Hora breathing down his neck McCurry goes for goal soccer-style and it's on target, but Rob Hennelly sends it behind with his legs.

A crucial save, but Morgan does score the resulting 45 and Tyrone leave by three.

Here come Tyrone with Frank Burns. Sends it the way of Mattie Donnelly on the left who has been quiet under Stephen Coen's watchful eye.

But Donnelly is a wiley fox, and his shimmies and dummies into some space to give his side a two point lead. Their first of the day.

Kerry ran into too many blind alleys in the All-Ireland semi-final and Tyrone are again succeeding in bottling up a lot of Mayo's attempted attacking thrusts so far.

Niall Sludden, that is absolutely top drawer.

Poetic motion to tilt his body left and connect perfectly with the outside of his boot to send an effort sailing over the top.

A score befitting such a stage.

Kieran McGeary runs a lovely angle off the shoulder of Michael McKernan but snatches as his shot slightly and puts it to the right of the posts.

Then all of a sudden Mayo are on the charge and Ryan O'Donoghue plays a lovely ball into Aidan O'Shea, there's a chance of a goal here but as he goes to shoot Ronan McNamee comes in with a flying block.

Darren McCurry's free from the left drops well shot.

Aidan O'Shea leads a Mayo counter attack but Tyrone pinch it back after O'Shea wins a hop ball. The Mayo skipper is down getting a bit of treatment after a coming together with Brian Kennedy but he's up and ok to carry on.

Aidan O'Shea, in his seventh All-Ireland final without a score to his name. He has been really well marshalled up to this point but gets possession here and has a pop, but he sends it wide.

Oisin Mullin finds Paddy Durcan and Tyrone sit off him too much. Durcan accepts the invitation and brings the sides level again.
