    Peter Alliss
    BBC Sport commentator

"Phil Mickelson has been playing professionally for 20 to 25 years. He has had wonderful monuments and blow ups. The fascination with watching Mickelson is you never knowing what will happen. I think we are in for a wonderful, very emotional afternoon and sure at the end of it we will have a very good winner and an exhausted one."

Mickelson on tee, all in black... took no prisoners there, I think it's OK, although he thinks he "whiffed" it. Woods with a great chip from just off the green at the first, should save par. Hoffman safely away at the first. McIlroy putting for birdie at the first but he slides it by, stays six under.

  3. Woods driving the ball "worse than any player in golf" says Gary Playerpublished at 19:38 British Summer Time 12 April 2015

Tiger Woods is driving the ball worse than any player in golf.

That is the view of nine-time major winner Gary Player.

"I thought if he can make the cut it would be extraordinary," Player told BBC Radio 5 live's Sportsweek. "He made the cut, wonderful. If he could hit the fairways with his driver he could win but he is the worst driver playing golf.

"I wouldn't be surprised if he never won a major again, I wouldn't be surprised if he won several. Tiger at his best was the best ever. If he never had another lesson, he would have won 22, 23 majors. He got so confused he didn't know if he was Arthur or Martha."

Woods hit just eight of 14 fairways on Saturday and started his final round by hitting the ninth fairway, a fair way from his intended target of the first.

Woods is just about on in two at the first. Rory's hit his first drive 354 yards, which would have been the longest of the week had it finished on the short stuff. McIlroy safely on in two, about 20 feet from the pin.

  5. Postpublished at 19:37 British Summer Time 12 April 2015

Great view of the range - only one man on it, Jordan Spieth. All of a sudden he must feel very lonely... Were he to win this week, he would be the first wire-to-wire winner since Ray Floyd in 1976. Mickelson and Hoffman on tee, Mickelson with that big grin on his face, the grin of a man who has nothing to lose.

  7. McIlroy & Woods under waypublished at 19:32 British Summer Time 12 April 2015

It's McIlroy to hit first... mangles it, although it skips into the first cut. Woods going with three wood and the groans say it all, he's tugged it. Casey made that eagle at two, by the way, he's now six under.

Birdie for Fowler at eight, he moves to four under. Woods and McIlroy arrive at the first tee, as Poulter drains a four-footer for birdie at two - he's now five under.

Mark O'Meara, 58, is back in the red after birdie on 15, he's three under today. McIlroy and Woods getting some last-ditch putting practice in, Woods in red and black, as ever, McIlroy looking like a giant canary.

  11. The curse of the albatrosspublished at 19:25 British Summer Time 12 April 2015

    Masters' albatrosses

Lee Westwood went mighty close to a fifth on the par-five second this week, though scoring a rare albatross at Augusta isn't necessarily good news... only one of the players to do so has won the title (Sarazen in 1935 at the second Masters tournament) while Oosthuizen came up short in 2012 against Bubba Watson in a playoff famous for the left-handed American's wonder shot from the 10th pine needles.

  12. Casey almost makes albatrosspublished at 19:24 British Summer Time 12 April 2015

Crackerjack second from Casey at the par-five second and he very nearly makes albatross, his approach finishing a couple of feet from the hole. Tap-in eagle, which will take him to -6. Dustin Johnson kicks off with a par to stay six under.

  13. Postpublished at 19:21 British Summer Time 12 April 2015

Donaldson had 24 putts today, which is bordering on a miracle round this stretch. Outrageous effort from Adam Scott at nine, aiming 30 feet right for a putt of about 35 feet. Alas, it was for par. Woods and McIlroy are off at 1930 BST.

  14. Donaldson cards 67published at 19:17 British Summer Time 12 April 2015

Graeme McDowell is in with a 74 for +7 overall, the Northern Irishman doesn't really get on with Augusta Nationa. Casey drops a shot at the first, Poulter makes par. Donaldson finishes with five birdies in the last six holes, and eight in all, for a 67 and level for the week.

Here's Patrick Reed into 11, safely on. He's two under today and two under for the week. Sangmoon Bae of Korea comes close to the first birdie of the day at 11 and gives Reed a pretty good read while he's at it.

    Fred CouplesImage source, AP

"Fred Couples and Jim Nantz had rehearsed the Green Jacket ceremony that takes place on live television at the end of each Masters Tournament in their dorm room," writes John Boyette in the Augusta Chronicle., external "Couples aspired to be a professional golfer, and Nantz had dreams of a broadcasting career.

"On April 12, 1992, Couples caught a break when his tee shot at the par-3 12th hit the bank but did not roll back into Rae's Creek, and he went on to a two-shot victory over Raymond Floyd. Before he knew it, he was headed to Butler Cabin and the ceremony that included Nantz, who was the host for CBS' Masters coverage.

'That's the happiest moment of my career, seeing my buddy win the green jacket like we rehearsed,' said Nantz."

Kuchar, too, makes eagle at 13 to move to +1 - he's six under on the 13th this week. English pair Casey and Poulter have just teed off, you'd think they'd be pretty comfortable together. Off at 1901 BST are Dustin Johnson and Japan's Hedeki Matsuyama.
