  1. Augusta be gustingpublished at 20:11 British Summer Time 12 April 2015

    John Murray
    BBC Radio 5 live commentator

In the last twenty minutes or so we've seen Adam Scott go in the water twice and take a seven at the par-three 12th, while Bubba Watson has found the water too. It's one of those days.

And Australian golf commentator Luke Elvy has noticed the wind picking up on holes 15 and 16 which could make things interesting for the contenders in a few hours.

  2. Mickelson birdies two, is -12published at 20:09 British Summer Time 12 April 2015

Mickelson at two and his magic deserts him, his third comes up short of the green. But that's an arrow-like birdie putt, he's 12 under. Wind picking up at Augusta, I'm told, that could be telling in the final reckoning...

  3. Augusta has windpublished at 20:09 British Summer Time 12 April 2015

    Paul Azinger
Former United States Ryder Cup captain and BBC expert

"One thing that has changed this morning is the wind. A little wind could even the scores up. At Amen Corner you can famously see the wind blowing the flag one way on the 11th and a different way on the 12th. The 12th is not a hole you want to go for when the wind blows down there, it becomes swirling and treacherous at best. The 15th is another on where the wind can come up and send you long and short and end your chances."

Big shout out to Danny Willett's brother, PJ, who has been following the live text assiduously these last four days. Big up yourself and the rest of the Birmingham Massif. Garcia for birdie at eight... not quite, he stays five under and looking like the world is about to turn in on itself.

Sangmoon Bae in from 166 yards! That on the 14th, for eagle, to take him back to level par. Rose has made par at the par-five second on the first three days and he's well way today, with three wood. Spieth, I believe, is also safely down there.

  8. Spieth birdies one, moves to -17published at 20:02 British Summer Time 12 April 2015

... Spieth bends in his birdie effort at the first to re-open that four-shot lead over playing partner Rose... England's Danny Willett is in with a 71 for +1 overall, fantastic effort from the debutant.

  9. Rose birdies one, is three off the leadpublished at 20:01 British Summer Time 12 April 2015

Casey drops a shot at four, drops to five under. "Ken Brown is doing a Facebook," announces Peter Alliss on the BBC. To be honest, I don't know what that means either. Rose with a birdie at the first, applying some pressure - the Englishman moves 13 under and three off playing partner Spieth...

    Peter Alliss

You have to say that's two opportunities gone for McIlroy. And if he's going to shoot a 63, 64, he's got to take those.

  11. Postpublished at 19:58 British Summer Time 12 April 2015

Spieth manages to get inside Rose at the first, he'll have a putt to get to -17. Mark O'Meara is in with a 68, including a birdie at the last, for two under. Some effort for a 58 year old. McIlroy leaves his birdie putt right at the second, stays six under. Has had two chances, missed them both...

Rory's second at two comes up right and short, Woods's chases up there but he's left with a long, snaking putt =. Mickelson misses the fairway at the second, as McIlroy leaves himself an eight-footer for birdie at two. Rose leaves himself a makeable birdie putt at one, Kevin Streelman has birdied two to get to seven under.

Mickelson for birdie at one but he leaves it short, he's got a bottom-twitcher for par. Hoffman leaves his par effort just right of the cup, he drops to nine under. Mickelson with four feet left at the first... squeezes it in to stay 11 under, he can now draw his broadsword and have a go at the par-five second.

  15. Spieth & Rose safely awaypublished at 19:52 British Summer Time 12 April 2015

Spieth and Rose on tee and it's our leader to hit first... Three pars so far for Jordan at this hole and he's safely away again, with three wood. Rose also going with three wood, easy swing, social golf, they'll be playing in from the same spot.

  16. No leader fearpublished at 19:51 British Summer Time 12 April 2015

    Paul Azinger
Former United States Ryder Cup captain and BBC expert

"Jordan Spieth can be in the same league as the greats but he has to finish the job here today. Spieth's desire for success is greater than his fear of failure and that is important. He has made clear his desire to win the event and is not scared of it."

  17. Postpublished at 19:49 British Summer Time 12 April 2015

Patrick Reed birdies 13 to get to three under, Hoffman has got a 12-footer to save par at the first. Poulter with a corker into the fourth, skimming the bunker and finishing 15 feet from the hole.

Woods on tee at two and this looks better. Although, and I'm no expert, it still looks like he's trying to hit the ruddy thing too hard. McIlroy has carried the bunker 320 yards down the fairway at two. When I said Charley Hoffman was safely away at the first, what I meant to say was he missed the fairway completely and ended up scuttling his second through the trees. Mickelson with a worker, just off the first green in two...

  19. Crash, bang, walloppublished at 19:45 British Summer Time 12 April 2015

Sir Nick Faldo, speaking to BBC Sport: "Phil Mickelson will come out crash, bang, wallop while Justin Rose will pick the shots off. I think Justin has got a really good chance today. I think it will be squeaky tight and we are in for a great finish today."

Woods also in for four at the first, stays six under. Casey with a great up and down at three, stays six under. Mickelson recently revealed that he wears black on Sundays because "it makes him feel more aggressive". Try telling that to fans of The Cure.
