    Tom Watson (even)

And Watson slams one up the first fairway. This hole is called Tea Olive and Watson just took 256 yards of it out with his drive. Just the 209 to go Tom. What chance another green jacket at the age of 66?

    Remember Turnberry...

“I’ll miss it, I’ll know I’ll miss it. I’ll be jealous of the guys playing next year but it’s time.”

Tom Watson – at the home of the first major he played in 1970 – will feature in his last major this week.  The eight-time major winner – a man who scrapped it out and overcame the great Jack Nicklaus on these hallowed fairways – has given this place and this game so much.

Did you know? Watson leaves an egg salad sandwich on the bench at the 13th tee on the first day of every Masters. He says it’s for his late caddie and friend Bruce Edwards, who always ate the snack on what is the most secluded tee box on the course.

    Rory McIlroy (19:01 BST)

As respected commentator and ex-professional David Feherty has said, "if Rory plays well, good luck to the rest."

McIlroy has an shift in gears like no other.

    Rory McIlroyImage source, .

But in seven outings this season, he has given himself slim chances with wayward driving - just 58% have been accurate.

Augusta sets up beautifully for his game but off the tee he has to get it going.

    No more games.

A year ago Rory McIlroy had One Direction singer Niall Horan on his bag for Augusta's annual Par 3 contest. The One-D fans loved it, the smiles echoed around this pristine course more fluidly than the tranquil water which laps some of the fairways.

But enough is enough. McIlroy withdrew from yesterday's Par 3 fun well in advance as he wanted to focus in on winning here for the first time.

Jason Day will never forget 2015.

His first major win at the US PGA, a rise to number one in the world, all of this after suffering vertigo and collapsing earlier in the year at the US Open.

The Australian is firing nicely on the course ahead of this week, winning two weeks back at the WGC Match Play.

Some hope for the field though, Day had some flu-like symptoms last weekend and said he was "a day behind" in his preparations as a result., external

We won't see him until 18:06 BST when we expect it to be windy.

    Rory McIlroyImage source, Get

World number three Rory McIlroy has been grouped with Germany's Martin Kaymer and American Bill Haas for the first two rounds of the Masters.

Northern Irishman McIlroy, 26, tees off at 19:01 BST today in the final first-round three-ball.

World number one Jason Day, who is grouped with four-time Major winner Ernie Els and American Matt Kuchar, starts at 18:06.

Defending champion Jordan Spieth tees off alongside England's Paul Casey and American amateur Bryson Dechambeau at 14:48.

    WeatherImage source, Google

The tee times for today are coming next but let me sting you with some weather news so far.

Augusta National has circulated it's own forecast and it's clear the afternoon tee times will suffer most. That's the likes of Jason Day, Rory McIlroy and Martin Kaymer to name a few.

Why is this? Well the wind is set to increase greatly as the day goes on. It'll measure between 15-20mph later in the day, with gusts of 25-30mph on times.

As you can see from the above - which is set to five hours behind us on Augusta time - today it seems is a day to get your round in early.

Jim Herman bagged the final spot in the Masters field after winning the Houston Open last weekend - now he will be the man to start the tournament alongside Steven Bowditch.

The 38-year-old American used to be an assistant pro at the Donald Trump-owned National Golf Club Bedminster.
