  1. Stroud strives for maiden majorpublished at 18:23 British Summer Time 13 August 2017

So if that stat is going to continue and it is not going to be Kevin, what do we know about his playing partner today, Chris Stroud?

Well the 35-year-old Texan won only last week, at the Barracuda Championship in Reno, Nevada, in his 290th start on the PGA Tour. The world number 203 is another with no apparent major pedigree, missing the cut six times in his eight previous appearances.

But he has wielded that long putter to excellent effect in this Championship and until back to back bogeys at the final two holes last night, had dropped only five shots in the event.

  3. Kisner's challengepublished at 18:16 British Summer Time 13 August 2017

It is 33-year-old Kevin Kisner who holds a one-shot advantage but the world number 25 has not recorded a top-10 finish in any of his previous 11 majors, with a best placing of tied 12th at the 2015 US Open.

However, he has won twice on Tour, at Colonial this year and at Sea Island in 2015. Earlier that year, he was in a three-man play-off with Sergio Garcia and Rickie Fowler at the prestigious Players Championship.

The pressure is not affecting him at the moment, he has gone a remarkable 141 consecutive holes without a three-putt. He tees off in 90 minutes.
