  1. Woods leads Open after double for Schauffelepublished at 16:36 British Summer Time 22 July 2018

    J Spieth -6, X Schauffele -5 (7)

Jordan Spieth two putts from the edge of the green to make par, the second a little nervy and it just flirted with the cup before deciding to commit.

Xander Schauffele eventually taps in having come up short with his bogey putt.

A double for the American. It means Tiger has the outright lead at The Open!

  2. Rory on the risepublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 22 July 2018

    R McIlroy -5 (11)

A sloppy start for Rory McIlroy this afternoon, but the Northern Irishman is quietly going about his business and is on the climb.

A second birdie wipes out those two early bogeys and he's now two off the lead.

    Tiger driving down the tenth...

He doesn't like it. "Bite, bite, bite. bite," he says. Into the bunker the ball goes...

We've seen this out-of-bounces fence give players a bit of a hard time this week, Xander Schauffele has to contend with the wood and wire beyond the seventh green after his third shot kicked on some - can't get a proper backlift.

A delicate little chip from the Californian. But it's a runner, he'll be dropping at least one here...

    T Woods -7, F Molinari -6 (9)

Co-leader Tiger Woods takes his time again behind this par putt. Hole this and with Schauffele in trouble he could soon have the lead outright...

Oooooof. This one almost stays up. It runs around the back of the cup but drops. Woods marches on. What a nine holes he has put together. Two birdies, no bogeys.

I said earlier that nothing was happening around Spieth. Make that everything is happening around Spieth.

A man called David Dawson found his ball in that bush. David is a Carnoustie member. “Don’t think I’ve ever been in that one,” he said

  8. Schauffele struggling at sevenpublished at 16:27 British Summer Time 22 July 2018

    J Spieth -6, X Schauffele -7 (6)

Right, can Jordan Spieth shake off that horror show at the sixth and regroup at the seventh?

His tee shot finds the fairway, and his approach skips on a little too far to the back of the green.

Xander Schauffele's turn to crumble... tee to rough, rough to rough. A shank of a second shot and now the joint leader is in a spot of bother.

  9. Good recovery for Woods againpublished at 16:25 British Summer Time 22 July 2018

    T Woods -7, F Molinari -6 (8)

Like on the last hole, it's a good lie for Woods in the bunker...

Like on the last hole he puts it to four or five feet.

  12. Woods finds bunkerpublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 22 July 2018

    T Woods -7, F Molinari -6 (8)

And our co-leader Tiger Woods is in the middle of the fairway on nine...

The trees are hardly moving now.

Woods doesn't like it. The ball heads into the bunker.

Watching the growing army of Tiger followers from a distance, a couple of fairways away, is some sight! Ever felt like you’re on the wrong game? They’re still roaring for Rory though too, especially after his birdie at nine.

  14. Spieth tumbles as Woods joins leadpublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 22 July 2018

    J Spieth -6, X Schauffele -7 (6)

Amid all that, Xander Schauffele casually goes about flopping his third shot into a gaping bunker. Another leg-up sand stroke for the American, it's awkward and he has to skittle it way beyond the pin.

The par putt comes up a few rotations short, and it's a bogey for Schauffele.

Can Spieth somehow scramble back for par after all the madness below...

    ... no.

His putt rushes on by the cup. Bogey putt from inside three feet. And he's missed that too!

    Double bogey for Spieth.

A two-way lead, and Tiger Woods is one of them...

  15. Bogey for Kisnerpublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 22 July 2018

    K Kisner -6, K Chappell -5 (7)

One step forward, another back for Kevin Kisner. He bogeys seven after missing a four footer for par. Final round pressure? He was bogey-free yesterday. Today has has hit two bogeys and a double in seven holes.

Woods is back on his own in third.

  18. Spieth takes a droppublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 22 July 2018

    J Spieth -8, X Schauffele -8 (5)

Frantic search going on for Jordan Spieth's ball in a gorse bush down the right of the sixth. Is this where he unravels?

Watch those fingers. He's found it... and is going to take an unplayable. "Thank you guys," he tells those marshals who joined the search party.

"Everybody watch out," is his next command. Spieth is going to go back on the line for his drop, and it's reminiscent of that remarkable drop he took last year at the 13th at Birkdale when contending with a TV truck! Think he made bogey then.

He drops it on some down-trodden turf, and then fizzes an approach into the green.

  19. Par for Woodspublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 22 July 2018

    T Woods -7, F Molinari -6 (8)

Tiger is after his ball as soon as the ball leaves the putter. Never in doubt. The American stays calm and marches on to the eighth.

Francesco Molinari is hanging on well too. Another par for him. Eight holes, eight pars for the Italian who is still the leading European.

  20. Good recovery from Woodspublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 22 July 2018

Delightful from Tiger from the sand. The crowd hum in delight as his shot appears from the bunker, pitches and skips on towards the flag. It stops four feet away.
