    Fleetwood -2 (8)

Corey Conners dropping back to two under means we have a freezer cold six-pack at the top of the leaderboard.

That includes England's Tommy Fleetwood, who has parred the eighth after birdies on two and seven.

Always amazes me how close the punters are allowed to stand to the world's top golfers. I mean, we can only dread to think what would happen if someone shanked one...

If you are wondering how it feels on the tee at the Masters......this is Rory McIlroy on the third.

Now that is a fair old gallery.

Just a tad more pressure than playing off the first at your local club with the next couple of pairings watching on.

Can you Adam and Eve it?! Corey Conners three putts on the last. The first, from 30 feet, needs some brakes as it slides by the left side, before the second doesn't even twitch as he lines it up left.

Nevertheless, a great opening round of 70 for the 27-year-old Canadian. Remember, he only made the Augusta field last week - after winning the Texas Open, where he survived a six-for-one play-off to even play.

Rory McIlroy isn't the only one into juggling. Day One of the Masters and while tracking the action on the BBC Sport app I've got to pick up the car after its MOT and get my youngest to and from rugby training before cooking dinner and enforcing a post-rugby shower. Mercifully the MOT was a pass.

Rory McIlroy drives near trees but gets home with a par on seven. Rickie Fowler fluffs out of the sand to within a bin lid to make his own par. Both chuntering along. Fireworks, no lighter just yet.

Drive? One of those where you pick up your tee before you've watched it land.

Approach? Asking his caddie for the putter.

Corey Conners is looking good to finish his round with at least a par....

Leading the Masters has not unnerved Corey Conners. The 27-year-old Canadian, playing only his second Masters, finds the green on the iconic over-the-drink 16th and uses his two putts, then pars on the par-four 17th.

He is stood on the 18th tee leading the Masters on Thursday. Imagine, just imagine, if he's doing the same on Sunday...

Tiger Woods is disgusted with himself on the seventh. From the middle of the fairway he tugs his iron a little and that's headed for a greenside bunker.

To be fair to Tiger, you can't actually see the plateau green from the fairway. Three enormous bunkers guard the front and two more are waiting to gobble up anything long.

Woods is long and left. His club is discarded. Real frustration seeping out.

He splashes out. "Stop, stop, stop stop stop," he urges his ball. It disobey him and trickles six feet past. But that's a solid sand save to stay level par and his mood looks a little brighter.

Regulation pars for Jon Rahm and Hatong Li see them stay one under.

    Woods level (6)

Anything on the green within the average height of an NBA player used to be dunked by Tiger. But he's missed two seven-foot putts on the last two holes to leave him level.

The short stick has been his problem all year, he's way down in 74th on the PGA Tour's putting stats.

    Rory, Rory.

Looks like he under-clubbed his shot into the par-three sixth, coming up short of the green. He chips past the stick, leaves a knee-knocking eight footer and can't save par. That's back to one over for the man who has taken to juggling and meditation to prepare mentally.

Rickie Fowler followed his playing partner in coming up short of the dance floor but a chip and put have him trotting off to the seventh with a par.

Behind the early man Conners out of the blocks is a group of five darters on his shoulder. And one of them is Tommy Fleetwood. The Englishman arrows his drive down the seventh fairway, then does the same with his second - both shots so straight you could use a ruler to mark them on shot tracker.

Arching his approach over the pin, a bit of back spin leaves Fleetwood nine feet away to the left. Cans that and he's one off the lead.

    Woods E (6), Rahm -1 (6), Li -1 (6)

A couple of practice swings, a shuffle of the feet and Tiger Woods gives his ball the slightest of taps but he's got the line wrong.

Jon Rahm nudges in for par after playing an exquisite shot from off the back of the green.

The third member of their gang, China's Haotong Li, pays the price for finding the green in the wrong place. His lengthy birdie attempt up the slope from the left pulls up short and he's dropping his first shot to go back to one under.
