He has held his emotion in check all day. Now it is tumbling out. What a story. Tiger Woods is back as a major winner.

The hug with his mother. His son is leaping into his arms. The chants of Tiger everywhere. What an extraordinary story and what scenes at Augusta. It is all about this man who dominated golf. I have never seen him celebrate like that.

Where does this rank among great sporting comebacks then?

Not quite Ali but better than Federer? Is it even the best comeback in golf? Ben Hogan won the 1950 US Open after almost dying in a car crash.

    Discuss.

  4. TIGER WOODS WINS THE MASTERSpublished at 19:32 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Woods -13 (18)

The noise is incredible. Augusta chanting 'Tiger, Tiger, Tiger!" like it's a fight scene from Rocky.

Woods races over to his family, embracing mum, kids and girlfriend. Is that a little tear? Who would blame him.

  5. This is the pinnacle...published at 19:30 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

I don't think I've ever seen better scenes than this.

  6. TIGER WOODS WINS THE MASTERSpublished at 19:30 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Woods -13 (18)

Woods sinks his putt and turns around to an Augusta crowd apoplectic with joy. Woods rips off his cap, fist-pumps like mad and 'wooos' like Ric Flare.

    Absolute scenes!

Hands on hips, head fixed on the floor. Woods has to watch Francesco Molinari and Tony Finau both hole out for pars.

    Here we go...

  9. Woods misses first putt for victorypublished at 19:26 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Woods -14 (17)

Lipped out!!!! One more putt for victory to go...

We're not saying anything more... other than Woods has two feet back to the pin.

  10. Here we go...published at 19:25 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Woods -14 (17)

Everything else at the moment is pretty much irrelevant. Molinari and Finau are putting for pars, but this is the one which everyone wants to see disappear.

    Tiger Woods. FOR THE MASTERS!

This is going to be close you'd think. Hmmm, not as close as we thought.

Tiger Woods knocks his chip to 14 feet and is two putts away from winning the Masters... for a fifth time.

Not the dream approach shot that Augusta wanted to see. Woods is well short of the bunker on the right side of the green.

Not sure if he caught that heavy or played it safe. Let's go for the latter.

The Woods family - mum Kultida, children Sam and Charlie, plus girlfriend Erica - are all stood at the side of the 18th green.

Tiger's kids are finally set to see dad do what they had read about - and heard the stories of from their old man.

Woods is set to win his first major since 2008...

PGA Tour winner on BBC Radio 5 live

Brooks Koepka's missed putt makes life so much easier for Tiger Woods as he comes up the 18th.

I'm shocked at how poorly he misread that.

  16. Huge moment...published at 19:17 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Koepka -12 (18)

Brooks Koepka then on the 18th green. A must-make. If he putts this, Tiger needs par. If he misses, Tiger wins with bogey. Such is the golfing arena, Woods is on the fairway and will know what happens.

Koepka, 12ft or so, has some break in it... misses.

Wake up your kids. Tiger's about to stop the world.

    Woods -14 (17)

One more fade down the last should do it... Tiger hits the line which he has hit all week.

Aiming for the bunker on the left, his ball arcs through the Augusta air and onto the fairway. Maybe it is a touch tight to the trees, but doubt it'll be much of a problem for Woods.

The patrons are lining up, half a dozen deep, all the way along the 18th fairway to acclaim golf's biggest superstar.

  20. Joining us for greatness...published at 19:12 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

if you're just joining us, we have Dustin Johnson and Xander Schauffele in the clubhouse on 12 under.

Brooks Koepka on the same mark and has a close-range birdie putt on 18, so a good hole out for him would be big.

But Tiger Woods is 14 under and stood on the 18th tee box.

He is a par away from silencing those who doubted he'd ever own this stage again.
