  1. Fowler falls awaypublished at 01:11 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

Bryson DeChambeau birdies the 13th to go back to four under and playing partner Adam Scott does the same to go to two under.

However, it's a double bogey for Rickie Fowler whose usually impeccable putting has gone to pot. He is three over and his championship is probably already over unless he can produce some magic over the final six holes.

  2. Hole 13 - Double bogey for Fleetwoodpublished at 01:07 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

An ugly and very unlucky 13th for Tommy Fleetwood, who didn't seem to be in that much trouble when he found the flat-lying bunker.

Hmm. The 29-year-old from Southport drops down to level par.

The hole: A new championship tee means the tee shot must be shaped left to right to avoid an overhanging cypress and clear a fairway bunker.

  3. Li steadily moves up the fieldpublished at 01:02 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

China's 25-year-old Haotong Li has played the wind magnificently today.

He started on the 10th, and having made a birdie on the sixth to go three under he looks set to be well placed going into round two.

  4. Fowler messes up short puttpublished at 00:57 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

Brave two putts from Bryson DeChambeau who makes par on the 12th to stay on three under - two off the lead held by Jason Day.

Rickie Fowler makes five on the par four hole as his putt drifts by the hole - one of those that never looked like it was going in.

The American drops to one over.

  5. Postpublished at 00:54 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

The wind is playing a wee bit of havoc now.

Tommy Fleetwood finds the fairly flat bunker to the left of the 13th green - the Englishman is two under at the moment.

  6. DeChambeau starting to struggle?published at 00:52 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

Adam Scott plays a blinder of an approach to the 12th - lots of backspin - to be within about four feet from the hole.

Playing partner Bryson DeChambeau has a lot of work to do on the huge green on the same hole.

  7. Hole 11 - DeChambeau misses a putt!!published at 00:41 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

    Par three, 200 yards

DeChambeau's putt runs past the hole - poorly judged. That will be a dropped shot for the 26-year-old.

The hole: A straightforward par three which plays slightly downhill to a green protected by bunkers right and left at the front of the putting surface.

  8. Casey on the casepublished at 00:36 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

One man doing well out on the course who we haven't mentioned is England's Paul Casey.

The 43-year-old, whose best major display was tied third at the 2010 Open, is currently three under after nine.

Casey was only tied 67th at the St Jude but in his final round 67 he did not miss a putt within 10 feet.

Could he? After all these years?

  9. DeChambeau one off the leadpublished at 00:28 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

Jon Rahm's head pops up before even completing his putt from a few feet on the ninth. He's a very frustrated figure and is now two over.

In contrast, Bryson DeChambeau - whose ball wasn't in such a bad position off the green on the 10th - pops one up on to the surface to leave him with about four feet. He makes no mistake with what's left and is now four under.

One off the lead held by Jason Day.

  10. Postpublished at 00:20 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

Very unlucky for Bryson DeChambeau on the 10th - his iron with the wind on his back looked like it would just trickle on to the green, but instead it got sucked back into the vortex of the frontside bunker.

  11. Even club shafts aren't safe...published at 00:15 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

Jon Rahm holes for par, but Phil Mickelson drops a shot - he's back to level.

I think they've given up on Sergio Garcia.

  13. Postpublished at 00:05 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

DeChambeau birdies the ninth - his putting has been dreamy.

The big man is on three under. What will happen over the next nine?

  14. Postpublished at 00:04 British Summer Time 7 August 2020

Nice little pitch from Jon Rahm - good recovery and that should be par.

Mickelson's effort from the bunker catches the wind and is well short, while Garcia - playing his third shot because his second found the bunker - is also short.

Bot Spanish players will be delighted to say goodbye to this front nine.

  15. Postpublished at 23:57 British Summer Time 6 August 2020

I think Jon Rahm wants to go home - he finds the thick rough from tee on the par-three eighth.

Phil Mickelson finds the bunker on the right - it's rubbing off.

At least Garcia misses the bunker, although he also misses the green and almost hits a big tree, which is probably a few hundred years old.

  16. Postpublished at 23:53 British Summer Time 6 August 2020

Bryson DeChambeau secures par on the eighth. He remains on two under and looks very comfortable - broken shaft or not.

Compatriot Rickie Fowler - excellent on the green - knocks in for his par. The best man but never the groom is level.

  17. Postpublished at 23:49 British Summer Time 6 August 2020

Rickie Fowler, from off the green, plays a chip and run but it runs too far - awkward.

Adam Scott, in his group, used the wind in his approach to the flag on the eighth. He's still got a difficult putt.

A tip for anyone is that if you hover the driver, you will drive the ball better. There's no question because your backswing will be softer and there'll be less of a jolt - if it's sitting on the ground you almost have to lift it up.

Some of the greatest drivers have done that. Greg Norman is a prime example. He was a great driver of the ball and he hovered it as good as anyone.

Golfers have a trigger...he had about 15 of them! Everything was moving. He was bouncing. I think he's worn the club out with the amount of movement - it was bizarre.

  20. Shaft!published at 23:44 British Summer Time 6 August 2020

Bryson DeChambeau has a replacement driver shaft!!

He won't need it on the 237 pa- three eighth. Middle iron and he's just a little bit off the green - that's OK.

Rickie Fowler's effort runs off the dancefloor.
