  1. Thomas misses chance to clinch his matchpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    Straka v Thomas 1UP (17)

    We're going the distance.

An eerie silence surrounds this match as Justin Thomas lines up his 10-foot putt to beat Sepp Straka.

It looks good but at the last moment slides by the right.

  2. Schauffele seals a pointpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    Hojgaard v Schauffele 3&2 (F)

Xander Schauffele grabs a birdie on 16 to win his match with Nicolai Hojgaard 3&2 and take America to 10 points as they continue to try and manufacture a comeback of epic proportions.

That's animpressive win for the Olympic champion, but also a pretty solid effort from the young Dane, who took it too his far more experience opponent early on but just couldn't really last the pace down the stretch.

That's a great experience for a player you suspect will be in this Ryder Cup team for a while.

  3. 'Knew my match would matter'published at 15:47 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    Homa bt Fitzpatrick 1UP (F)

Max Homa speaking to Sky Sports after beating Matt Fitzpatrick to keep the Ryder Cup alive: "We had a good match. I played pretty much perfectly through 10 then it got a little shaky. As the match got on, we both got nervous and I started losing my legs from being tired and general nerves.

"Having an opportunity to make a putt to keep it going was a dream come true. When I saw so much red on the leaderboard, I knew my match would matter.

"I am very proud of myself and of my team. We were in a massive hole and we’ve dug ourselves out.

"It is a lot different playing in these things when you have a team. I have had so much support from my partners and team to play like myself and it has been truly fun and freeing."

  4. Spieth regains advantage over Lowrypublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    Lowry v Spieth 1UP (15)

This is the Jordan Spieth we all remember, not that imposter who turned up in his place on Friday and Saturday.

Spieth has been looking today like the major champion which he is, knocking in his sixth birdie of the day - not to mention an eagle - to regain the lead against Shane Lowry.

With the latest one on the 15th, the American goes one up with three to play.

The intensity of Spieth's celebration is real, he's almost snarling and frothing.

    Straka v Thomas 1UP (16)

Magic reply from Justin Thomas on 17 as he fleeces a tee shot into the par-three green.

He's picked out the putting surface and is delighted to see it catch the edge and hold. He'll have 10 feet for birdie.

Sepp Straka is on the dance floor too, but a good 32 feet away.

    Straka v Thomas 1UP (16)

Time to make yourself a hero Sepp Straka.

I mentioned they were at the risk-and-reward 16th and the Austrian has just brought some magic to the massed greens over there.

Both he and Justin Thomas find the thick stuff behind the putting surface but that's no worry for Straka, delivering a wonderful chip that rattles the flagstick on its way down.

One down with two to play.

    1UP MacIntyre v Clark (13)

Wyndham Clark finally makes a putt inside 10 feet as he makes birdie on the par-three 13th to pull it back once again to just one hole in this anchor match.

Will it all come down to this one?

  9. Fowler pulls one backpublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    1UP Fleetwood v Fowler (14)

Oh boy, Rickie Fowler isn't giving this up. Shades of his putitng in that record-breaking US Open first round back in June.

He's lasered that in from 16 feet to claw a shot bac on Tommy Fleetwood.

  10. Lowry brings it levelpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    Lowry v Spieth A/S (14)

    Shane Lowry is PUMPED!

As things stand, he could be the man who seals Europe's victory.

Trailing by three after five holes, the Irishman has remained resolute and maintained faith in his game.

Now he's all square after a birdie on the 14th and he's galloping towards the 15th tee.

When the going gets tough, Lowry gets going.

Fair bit of confusion in the crowd behind the 18th, who thought Max Homa had been given a free drop there and showed their displeasure.

It doesn't drop and there's a flex of the knees as his putt drifts by.

Pressure back on Max Homa who has to sink from eight feet to take this further...

    Hojgaard v Schauffele 1UP (14)

Nicolai Hojgaard pounces on an error from Xander Schauffele to win the 14th with a par and move to within just one hole of the American.

This really is a gutsy display from the young Dane to hang tough with the PGA Tour veteran and Olympic champion.
