Laurina has just raised the bar with that easy peasy win. Effortless. Arguably the finest win of the week so far, it takes Mullins's Festival tally to seven this week and a record-extending 61 of all-time.

Laurina tears it up. She looks Premier League, the rest look League Two. A completely different league.

Another winner for Willie Mullins, another winner for Ireland.

Three Becomes Two. Laurina joins Maria's Benefit and Cut The Mustard with two to go, then steps on the accelerator to race eight or nine lengths clear....

Spice Girl is in third... leading the pack, way behind the Maria's Benefit and Cut the Mustard who have cut loose. No sign of Laurina yet.

Behind Laurina in the market is Maria's Benefit. The Stuart Edmunds-trained mare has been a revelation this season, a dominant performance at Doncaster among her highlights.

Is she the one to stop Laurina? Connections are quietly confident.

This is a newly-established race and provides opportunity for other trainers. But this whole meeting is bloated in the eyes of some people and they are disappointed this race has come about. Do we really need a race like this? For me the obvious thing to do is take one race out from each day rather than go back to three days.

And Willie Mullins is the hot favourite to add another victory to his tally in the 4:50 Stud Mares' Novices' Hurdle.

Mullins has yet to taste defeat in a race that was introduced in 2016 and his mare Laurina is the odds-on favourite today.
