What he said to Khabib inside the octagon:

    On Conor:

"Conor was great in all of this, he didn’t react."

    What happens next:

"I’m so disappointed man. I’m one of the guys who has worked 18 years to get this sport where it is today.

  11. UFC president Dana White's reactionpublished at 06:52 British Summer Time 7 October 2018

Dana White speaking to Fox in the US:

"Khabib jumped over the cage going after Conor's guy who was talking trash to him and all hell broke loose. I don't know what to say right now, I'm just sick over it."

On speaking to Conor McGregor post-fight:

"I've just talked with him (Conor) he's upset about the fight, not about the fight after the fight."

    Nurmagomedov's men arrested:

"Three of Khabib's guys have been arrested and are on the way to jail now.

"I know if we put the belt on him (Khabib) in the octagon they'll be things thrown. I just said let's just try and get him out of here.

"Both men made it clear that the rivalry would not be over after the fight, but I definitely didn't see Khabib jumping over the fence after the fight.

"Daniel Cormier and Luke Rockhold were great in diffusing things."

    What happens next?

"What happens here is three guys have been arrested, there's going to be charges against them for sure. Those three guys, are they even going to get a VISA to come back here? There's a lot of things that they haven't realised yet."

  12. Three of Nurmagomedov's team arrestedpublished at 06:49 British Summer Time 7 October 2018

Speaking on BT Sport, UFC president Dana White has just said three of Khabib Nurmagomedov's team have been arrested and taken to jail.

Anon: Is this fight going to enhance UFC/MMA's image? Could public polarization be further apart? yes... Will the fighters and promoter, advertisers and broadcasters be concerned with the extra publicity, exposure and certain increased revenue? of course not

Nihar Ranjan Palai: @TeamKhabib, external Won the fight, but what he did is not good. He ruined his own crowning moment. @TheNotoriousMMA, external was attacked by a associate which is not at all acceptable.

James Collins: I find it strange that so much is being made of the khabib situation when Conor basically got away (in the UFC) with bringing a team and attacking a bus full of fighters and cornermen. Not that it makes his actions better obviously

Khabib Nurmagomedov was escorted from the arena by police following the brawl.

Where do tonight's actions leave Khabib Nurmagomedov? Where does it leave Conor McGregor? And where does it leave the UFC?

  16. 'McGregor would have been humble'published at 06:27 British Summer Time 7 October 2018

    Dan Hardy
Former UFC fighter on BBC Radio 5 live

"I do feel McGregor would have been humble if he had chance for a post-match interview. There wasn't an opportunity there as Khabib was still looking for a fight. I do think McGregor would have been humble in defeat."

  17. Will Nurmagomedov be stripped of the title?published at 06:25 British Summer Time 7 October 2018

    Nick Peet
    BBC MMA Show Presenter

After seeing that I'll be so surprised if Khabib isn't suspended and stripped of the belt, he caused a riot.

It's one thing attacking a bus in a closed environment, but to do it in front of 20,000 fans in Vegas in an environment that is being broadcast to the world. It's incredible.

Anon: Nurmagomedov and his team totally lost the plot. Disgraceful and no way how to conduct himself as a champion.

Ryan Bracken: I can’t quite understand the thinking of Khabib and his corner there. He won. It’s his crowning moment. And he threw it away like toddler.

John Wilkinson: For his antics after the fight, Khabib would have to be banned however because of McGregors antics with the attack on the coach in Brooklyn, that will probably save him. Terrible end

  19. This is not overpublished at 06:20 British Summer Time 7 October 2018

    Dan Hardy
Former UFC fighter on BBC Radio 5 live

"The narrative expands. Unfortunately we are part of this now, and we need some closure to this story. The drama is not over, it was a one-sided fight. I feel that because it was a one-sided fight, Khabib didn't have chance to get the respect of McGregor. Because Khabib has mauled McGregor for four rounds, he didn't get the closure he needed from the fight. As soon as he got back up there was fight left in him and that's why he went for one of McGregor's men."

  20. Ugly post-fight scenespublished at 06:19 British Summer Time 7 October 2018

    Khabib Nurmagomedov beats Conor McGregor

If you're just joining us, Khabib Nurmagomedov retained his lightweight title by beating Conor McGregor with a rear naked choke in round 4. That however, is only half the story.

Following the bout, pandemonium broke out. Nurmagomedov jumped straight out of the cage and went to attack what appeared to be one of Conor McGregor's team-mates.

Whilst this was going on, chaos broke out inside the octagon where someone from the Russian's camp threw a punch at Conor McGregor.

Security intervened, Conor McGregor was escorted from the arena and UFC president Dana White told Nurmagomedov he would not be handing him his lightweight title.
