Dominick Reyes has just had an impressive first round against Ovince Saint Preux, rocking him with a big over-the-top left hand.

Saint Preux looked visibly hurt, shaky in the legs and did well to last until the end of the round.

American Reyes is now controlling the fight in the second round, keeping his opponent against the cage and landing a succession of knees.

"I just feel like this is the biggest UFC fight in history. Conor McGregor taking on the undefeated lightweight champion of the world, the guy that took his belt when McGregor had to hand it over to go into the boxing world. What a night it is going to be."

The war of words between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov reached boiling point at a press conference in Vegas on Thursday.

"This is the biggest fight in UFC history and we're going to break numbers," said Nurmagomedov.

"For me, this is more than defending my title. For me, it's personal,"

McGregor's response was equally, if not more scathing:

"It's deeper than just a fight on Saturday night," he said. "If you can't aim for peace, aim between the eyes. This is never over."

We're starting to see the Irish supporters arriving in the arena. This place is littered with green, orange and white and lots of Conor McGregor T-shirts. It's a very lively, lively atmosphere in here.

In the prelims, Jussier Formiga beat Sergio Pettis via unanimous decision - Pettis' brother Anthony is up later on the main card, as he takes on Tony Ferguson.

Ferguson was scheduled to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov in August, before a knee injury ended his hopes.

We're currently in the final round of the heavyweight fight between Derrick Lewis and Alexander Volkov, where Lewis looks like he's tiring. He's just survived a huge barrage of punches from Volkov.

Love him or hate him, you can't deny Conor McGregor has become one of the most iconic sports stars in the world.

You just can't keep the Irishman out of the news - his nickname is 'The Notorious' and he certainly lives up to it.

The reigning UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has arrived at the arena and is looking relaxed ahead of his showdown with Conor McGregor.

He might not be the global personality that Conor McGregor is, but in the world of MMA, Khabib Nurmagomedov is a superstar.

The undefeated 30-year-old from Dagestan is not only the reigning lightweight champion, he is the only Russian and first Muslim ever to win a UFC title.

With 26 straight wins, he is on the longest current unbeaten run in MMA.

In an interview in August, Floyd Mayweather warned Nurmagomedov, external that Conor McGregor is a "warrior" that fears no one. His response?

"I am the Floyd Mayweather of MMA."

You just notice how busy the city is overall: the airport is right by the Strip where all the hotels are and over the course of the week you can watch this spot of tarmac, a ‘car park’ for all the private jets get busier and busier, hundreds of them arriving and being parked up.

It’s a high rollers' weekend, and just talking to people here it’s one of the biggest of the year.

The UFC's tagline for tonight's main event is 'the world is watching' and there is good reason for the big-fight hype.

In Conor McGregor, it pits arguably MMA's biggest star and one true global personality, against Khabib Nurmagomedov, a fighter who's 26-0 and currently on the longest undefeated run in MMA.

It's not just a title fight either - it's personal. Nurmagomedov and McGregor's rivalry is a bitter one, which has sizzled for months (more on that later).

Add to this an estimated record two million pay-per-view purchases in North America alone, and the scene is set for the biggest fight in UFC history.
