So we still don't have a resolution yet, but as time is ticking it seems like any punishment - if there is to be one - could be reduced. A grid penalty for the next race in Sanya, China, perhaps?

If you want to watch the whole thing again it's on the iPlayer now.

We'll keep you updated across the day of course, and in the report. Next up across BBC Sport is football with Burnley v Liverpool, and triathlon coverage of the first ITU race in Abu Dhabi from 13:00 GMT.

Who's going to win the Premier League, Sam?

Sam C: Just watching the the formula e on iPlayer I think this might be my new obsession

Barbara C Edwards: Brilliant race in Hong Kong. Always watched F1, but FormulaE really demonstrates how fantastic these electric cars can race. Well done Sam Bird.

  3. Lotterer unhappy after 'disgusting' collision with Birdpublished at 11:09 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2019

Greg Morgan: I wonder if there would be an investigation if Lotterer didn't get a puncture? There's a lot of contact between cars, not sure it would be good to penalise drivers where bumps and scrapes occur.

Ian Seabrook: Well that Formula E race was rather exciting. Two very skilled and very fast drivers at the head of it. Some controversy to be settled yet, but no denying the pace and energy-frugality of Sam Bird.

Lee Allen: Bit in delay & i know its unpatriotic but Bird has to get a pen for giving lotterer a flat tyre on that penultimate lap. as he was lucky to not do it rowland

Still no news on whether Bird has been penalised for his last-lap collision with Lotterer.

BUT, if the result stands he will be leading the title standings by 18 points from Jerome D'Ambrosio.

f1 fiend: Formula E needs to widen tracks by a meter. That first hairpin is crazy at the start. Drivers did well to avoid a huge pile up

Miranda Lane: WOW!! What a post Formula E rocks!! 50th race in Hong Kong!

  12. Remember this?published at 10:01 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2019

Formula 1 fans will remember this moment from 2008, when Hamilton won his first championship.

Felipe Massa crossed the line first and everyone in the Ferrari garage including his friends and family celebrated his win. Until there was a late overtake by Lewis Hamilton on Timo Glock (the famous "IS THAT GLOCK?" moment) and Hamilton actually won the championship.

    Oops.

  16. What could this mean?published at 09:49 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2019

If Bird is cleared of the investigation and remains the winner, this will be his second race win this year and his ninth race win in Formula E.

Bird has never won the drivers' championship. We spoke to him earlier this week on his chances, he said: "It's a long way to go, anything could happen. I've been there or thereabouts every year so it would be amazing to be there again come New York. That's what you need to do, you need to be in the game by New York, then let's see."

Kaz: "Champagne tastes nasty mixed with sweat" never tried it myself hope Bird keeps the win, subdued celebrations in Hong Kong.

Trend Trader: Fantastic win for #SamBird, external. Hope he gets to keep the win. No worse than the constant nudging we see-adds to the drama.

Stephen Hughes: Controversy aside, can anyone explain why Bird's attack mode finished a few seconds before Lotterer's? Surely he activated it later so it should finish later? Seemed to happen both times.
