  1. 'Unpredictability the key'published at 09:25 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2019

    Marc Priestley
    Former F1 mechanic

We said at the beginning 'expect the unexpected.'

Even going into the last lap of a Formula E race, you still don't know who the winner is going to be.

For any type of live motorsport, that's what everyone is striving for - that level of unpredictability.

Vicky Phelan: Whatever the decision, Sam won it in my mind

Ben Jones: Enjoying how reliably Formula E serves up good racing and wacky drama in equal measure. Thought it was a fluke when I started watching but no, all the time

Vincent Celino: gut feeling is non intentional Sam caught the back of Lotterer which is small consolation for Andre. Pretty darn good first race for me, well done to all drivers and the #battlingbrits, external

  3. 'Everything happened in that race'published at 09:19 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2019

    Jamie Chadwick
    Formula E test driver

I said I didn't want to call it before and I think I made a good shout!

Everything happened in that race, you really couldn't predict what was going to happen.

With the amount of safety cars there were it was bunching the field up.

I didn't expect to turn out that way but what a race.

SaltedPork: Doesn't seem fair in Formula E that you can use your front wing like a weapon with no penalty.

Gary: Really enjoyed that race! F1 convert here

Tom: Shouldn't be a penalty on further inspection. Bird commits down the inside and Lotera hasn't given him sufficient room in the breaking zone, he's forced him further inside.

  5. Postpublished at 09:15 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2019

Lucas Di Grassi who came third, says: "It's amazing to be here in Hong Kong. It's been a tough day with wet and the dry conditions my car wasn't optimised for dry, but good points."

  6. The race winner is under investigationpublished at 09:13 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2019

We'll keep you updated with the latest information, as Sam Bird is being investigated over that nudge before Andre Lotterer punctured.

  7. Muted celebrationspublished at 09:11 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2019

    Dario Franchitti
    Four time IndyCar Series champion

It's a shame as it was a fantastic drive but it's just a bit muted now.

  8. 'It's a shame it ended that way'published at 09:11 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2019

Race winner Sam Bird, speaking to Nicki Sheilds says: "It's a shame for me, I tried to go down the inside and he (Andre Lotterer) late defended. It's slippy down the inside, my brakes and locked up - like with Jev in Santiago last year. But it's a shame it ended that way."

  9. Does that call for a penalty?published at 09:07 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2019

That little finishing incident is under investigation with the stewards.

Bird says: "For me, Andre was over defending quite a bit I went for a gap and he closed the door."

  10. Lotterer outpublished at 09:06 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2019

    Dario Franchitti
    Four time IndyCar Series champion

Was that a puncture a result of the contact in Turn 2?

    Lotterer will be furious.

    Dario Franchitti
    Four time IndyCar Series champion

We talked about the battle Lotterer and Bird had in Paris last year.

Bird crossed the finish line with three wheels on his car after they had some "contact" shall we say!

Jack Nicholls: Are you suggesting the same outcome today?

    It could happen!

  16. We're back underwaypublished at 09:01 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2019

Just under two minutes left, and we're back underway. Lotterer goes for it, but Sam Bird is fighting right behind him on every corner.
