    South Africa 33-46 England

    Ama Agbeze
Former England captain on BBC Sport

I think the transitions were so much better. Serena Guthrie was constantly putting her body on the line, being bashed but then still performing. Constantly hitting the deck is not good for anybody but she shoulders it well.

    Q4: South Africa 33-49 England

Serena Guthrie and Nat Haythornthwaite trade passes in the air like they're on a trampoline.

    Jo Harten pops in another.

    Q4: South Africa 33-48 Engalnd

It's Erin Burger to Sigi Burger (no relation) as South Africa push to close the gap.

But not with air shots like that, and then Eboni Usuro-Brown stealing the ball away they won't!

  4. 'South Africa came out fighting'published at 21:10 British Summer Time 18 July 2019

    South Africa 31-43 England

    Sara Bayman
Former England captain on BBC Sport

You would think that the game is pretty much dead from here. Although that third quarter was more what we were expecting from the game tonight. It was tight, it was tense, there were a few turnovers, a little bit of niggle in it and South Africa came out fighting after half time.

    Q4: South Africa 32-44 England

Surrey Storm's Sigi Burger is on for Lenize Potgieter, while Lenize Potgieter comes off the bench at GK.

No further changes for the Roses.

    Q4: South Africa 30-43 England

A relentless Jo Harten is out first as her team-mates soon follow.

Can England win this quarter too?

    Q3: South Africa 30-43 England

    Sara Bayman
Former England captain on BBC Sport

I think 13 goals is too much for South Africa to get back.

    England have been clinical.

  8. End of third quarterpublished at 21:04 British Summer Time 18 July 2019

    Q3: South Africa 30-43 England

    England win the quarter.

They are yet to drop a single quarter in the whole tournament, in fact.

The third quarter was much more open than the opening two, with South Africa more organised and less panicky in their play.

    Q3: South Africa 30-42 England

Eboni Usuro-Brown, Jade Clarke, Serena Guthrie and Geva Mentor bully the South African attack into submission and come away with the ball.

Seconds to go in this period.

  10. Postpublished at 21:03 British Summer Time 18 July 2019

    Q3: South Africa 30-42 England

Excellent pressure from Geva Mentor puts Lenize Potgieter off and she is called for held ball.

Jo Harten combines with Helen Housby and the former, as you may well have gathered by now in this game, does the business with the shot.

    Housby scores herself seconds later.

  11. Postpublished at 21:01 British Summer Time 18 July 2019

    Q3: South Africa 30-40 England

Maryka Holtzhausen's shooting has improved in this second half as her coach shows faith in her following an indifferent first half.

England are still doing so well on their own centre-pass, that they do not panic on South Africa's.

Three minutes to go in this quarter.

Erin Burger is really playing with fire here as she steps offside into the circle after a challenge on Nat Haythornthwaite.

    Welcome to the game, Nat!

  14. WATCH: 'That was painful' - Guthrie puts her body on the linepublished at 20:57 British Summer Time 18 July 2019

This was the first of Guthrie's falls in this game.

She's going to have some bruises to nurse later.

  16. Postpublished at 20:56 British Summer Time 18 July 2019

    Q3: South Africa 27-37 England

This game was fizzing like the fizzy drink straight out of the can but now it's gone flat like it does after sitting in the glass for a while.

Scrappy play from South Africa after they'd worked so hard to win the ball back.

Chelsea Pitman does not panic under pressure from two markers.

  17. WATCH: Van Der Merwe dives to keep the ball inpublished at 20:54 British Summer Time 18 July 2019

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's South Africa's WD!

  18. Postpublished at 20:54 British Summer Time 18 July 2019

    Q3: South Africa 26-36 England

South Africa have certainly changed-up their attacking gameplan here.

It's 6-5 to the Proteas in this quarter and Chelsea Pitman's pass is cut out.

    Guthrie wasn't happy with that.

  19. Postpublished at 20:53 British Summer Time 18 July 2019

    Q3: South Africa 24-35 England

The Roses are a little less tidy so far this half, with South Africa winning in the slick stakes.

The Proteas produce a sublime attacking move, finished off with a neat shot from Southern Steel shooter Lenize Potgieter.

  20. Postpublished at 20:51 British Summer Time 18 July 2019

Helen Housby steps in and her action is so fluid she almost follows her shot through the net.

Geva Mentor with another almost-block at the other end of the court.
