  1. Teams are on their waypublished at 19:58 British Summer Time 18 July 2019

South Africa v England (20:00 BST)

It's like being in a club in here as the lights flash, the music blasts and the crowds holler.

The teams are introduced on to the court, with each Roses player out-cheered 10-1 to every Proteas athlete.

The South Africans may be outnumbered in the crowd, but will they be outscored on the court?

  2. Dead rubber? Or statement-maker?published at 19:55 British Summer Time 18 July 2019

South Africa v England (20:00 BST)

South Africa coach Norma Plummer: "I haven't had to do much at all. The work is done, so they are ready to get out on court.

On form against England: "We also got them in New Zealand and England keep forgetting that one! We're going up against a quality team. We've just got to hope we can get over the line at the last minute.

"In one way it's a dead rubber but in another way it's also about making a statement."

England coach Tracy Neville: "I think the fans and supporters have been amazing. They shout for your name and you get to acknowledge it, it’s great. Hopefully that can continue for the next few days.

"I have gone for Jo Harten and Helen Housby for shouting – I think over the tournament their combinations have really jelled. I think it’s going to be a really tough battle against Phumza Maweni and Karla Pretorius.

"It’s another test to play one of the top teams in the world. I know we are already in the semis but we have a lot we want to work on."

Expect to see a real tussle between Helen Housby and Karla Pretorius in this game.

The pair locked horns for their domestic clubs in Super Netball, where Pretorius' Sunshine Coast Lightning side inflicted the only loss of the season so far on Housby's NSW Swifts.

Housby also had a surprisingly poor game under the post, too, shooting at well under 80%.

She'll want to put that right tonight.

    Sara Bayman
Former England captain on BBC Two

South Africa have won some impressive performances in the last few games. They will go into tonight's match believing they can beat England. They will also want to play the Silver Ferns rather than Australia in the semi-finals.

  8. Previous meetingspublished at 19:46 British Summer Time 18 July 2019

South Africa v England (20:00 BST)

South Africa beat England the last time these two met in January, triumphing 48-45 in their Quad Series clash.

That match was on captain Bongi Msomi's 31st birthday.

In that same international series, South Africa fell to an extra-time defeat by New Zealand.

The Proteas' previous win over the Roses was in December 2017.

South Africa v England (20:00 BST)

    Ama Agbeze
Former England captain on BBC Two

It's so important to have confidence going towards the final, England will want to win this. Helen Housby has been so impressive this tournament so hopefully she will turn up and deliver once again. England are riding the wave at the moment, and I am confident they will go and beat South Africa.

  10. Layla Guscoth has operationpublished at 19:42 British Summer Time 18 July 2019

South Africa v England (20:00 BST)

England Rose Layla Guscoth has taken to social media to confirm she has had an operation.

Guscoth ruptured her Achilles in the 70-34 win over Scotland and was forced to leave the court after just 11 minutes.

She's still smiling and very much behind her team-mates tonight.

Billie Graham: Love the netball coaching masterclass on BBC 2 I often do the no-look passes but can baffle teammates & aren’t always pulled off! Reverse pass in the circle Trinidad & Tobago used before shooting is an absolute game changer & almost 100% successful

Anouska Ramsey: Getting ready to support the big game - COME on ENGLAND

  15. Good evening!published at 19:29 British Summer Time 18 July 2019

South Africa v England (20:00 BST)

The winner of this game plays New Zealand in the semi-final on Saturday.

The loser faces defending champions Australia.

    Both games are delicious prospects.

But for now, tonight's game is the sole focus, with England and South Africa both unbeaten in the tournament so far, with five wins from five.

Who can make it the perfect half dozen?

I mean, it's just so annoying getting home to find one of your eggs has cracked en route, isn't it?
