Dessie Ward scampers straight into a Dublin tackle. Turnover. Cormac Costello races through at the other end and points expertly.

    Dublin lead again.

  2. 'Monaghan must be careful'published at 18:28 British Summer Time 15 July 2023

    Dublin 0-8 Monaghan 0-8

    Mickey Harte
Louth manager & ex-Tyrone boss on BBC Sport

It's very, very important for Monaghan to be careful and conservative.

Play your way into the second half, don't take any risks and stay in the game because the longer you stay in the game against hot favourites the better your chances are of a good outcome.

  3. McAnespie levels for Monaghanpublished at 38 mins

    Dublin 0-8 Monaghan 0-8

Ryan McAnespie takes on three Dublin players and lands a brilliant score and Monaghan are level!

    Exactly what they needed.

  4. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Dublin 0-8 Monaghan 0-7

Third quarters can often be decisive in these big games.

Dublin roasted Mayo early in the second half in the quarter-final. Monaghan will be wary of that. They can't let Dublin out of their sights.

  5. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Dublin 0-8 Monaghan 0-7

We're underway in the second half.

    Massive 35 minutes coming up.

  6. 'Monaghan have been bold'published at 18:21 British Summer Time 15 July 2023

    HT: Dublin 0-8 Monaghan 0-7

    Michael Murphy
Former Donegal captain and All-Ireland winner on BBC Sport

Monaghan have been bold. You need to score against Dublin, you need to take them on and that's what I've been so impressed with in this game. They have taken Dublin on. They have really, really tried.

  7. Postpublished at 18:18 British Summer Time 15 July 2023

    HT: Dublin 0-8 Monaghan 0-7

Just seeing the Ryan McAnespie goal chance again. That really should've been a pass to Stephen O'Hanlon, who was free on the right.

Easy for me to say that of course, but will Monaghan come to rue their missed goal chances?

  8. 'Costello crucial'published at 18:15 British Summer Time 15 July 2023

    HT: Dublin 0-8 Monaghan 0-7

    Michael Murphy
Former Donegal captain and All-Ireland winner on BBC Sport

The kick-passing into the Dublin forwards has been exemplary but we're seeing Costello picking up the mantle. We saw Colm Basquel do it the last day but Costello is becoming the crucial player up top.

  9. 'Monaghan must be so happy'published at 18:13 British Summer Time 15 July 2023

    HT: Dublin 0-8 Monaghan 0-7

    Oisin McConville
Armagh All-Ireland winner on BBC Sport

Dublin won the 10-minute period without Niall Scully 4-2 and that could be significant.

But Monaghan must be so happy with what's going on.

We called on the Monaghan half-forward line to be involved in the game and they've been good in that area.

Dublin have been able to adapt well in recent games so Monaghan really need to bed in for 20 minutes here after the break.

  10. 'Brilliant Monaghan'published at 18:10 British Summer Time 15 July 2023

    HT: Dublin 0-8 Monaghan 0-7

    Mickey Harte
Louth manager & ex-Tyrone boss on BBC Sport

This is a super game. Nobody would have anticipated this, except the people of Monaghan. This has been a brilliant performance from Monaghan. If they can sustain this for even another ten or fifteen minutes then the pressure all goes on Dublin.

    Dublin 0-8 Monaghan 0-7

Dublin lead. Nobody will be surprised by that. But they're only one point ahead after a sub-par display which has given Monaghan plenty of heart.

Cormac Costello nailed six points for Dublin but they're a shadow of the fearless machine who ripped through Mayo a fortnight ago.

Credit it Monaghan. They're right in this.

Cormac Costello. No danger. Of course he scores. His sixth.

Can Monaghan edge ahead before half-time?

Conor McManus launches one from distance.

It drops short but Stephen Cluxton's handling - for once - isn't assured and it's a chance from the '45 for Rory Beggan...

  19. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Dublin 0-7 Monaghan 0-6

Con O'Callaghan sends a shot well wide and that's perhaps a reflection of a usually lethal player who has not had his best year with Dublin.

  20. Costello taking on Rock mantlepublished at 18:00 British Summer Time 15 July 2023

    Dublin 0-7 Monaghan 0-6

    John Haughey
BBC Sport NI at Croke Park

Dean Rock's loss of form is more than being compensated for by Cormac Costello's free-taking accuracy. Five points for Costello so far.
