This Dublin team are coming to the boil at the right time, they really look like All-Ireland contenders and that's a big ask of Monaghan at this stage.

Have Monaghan ever beaten a big team on a big day at Croke Park? The answer has been no and I think that is huge motivation for them.

Oisin McConville is giving Monaghan a chance today but not many others are.
However, the Farneymen will cling to the memory of the result in the last contest between the two sides 16 months ago when Jack McCarron's sensational performance helped Monaghan stay in Division One and in the process relegated the Dubs.
But it looks like a huge task for Monaghan after Dublin's demolition of League champions Mayo two weeks ago.

No sooner do I say that the rain is holding off that it suddenly starts looking very dark behind Hill 16. More coming soon I think.

Having ruled the championship with six titles on the spin from 2015 to 2020, Dublin have had to sit back and watch Tyrone and Kerry lift Sam over the last couple of years.
But if their ruthless quarter-final dismantling of Mayo is anything to go by, Dessie Farrell's men look ready to reclaim their place at the top.
The Dubs looked as good as they have done all year against Mayo with the outstanding Colm Basquel hitting 2-2.
Monaghan aren't scared of anyone, but they'll need an almighty performance today if they're to stop Dublin from returning to the final.

A theory doing the rounds earlier was that wet conditions could be a leveller today and give Monaghan a better chance against the classy Dubs but the rain is holding off for now as the blue throngs on Hill 16 are keeping dry at the moment.

If there's one thing we've learned about Monaghan over the years, it's that they have no quit in them.
They escaped the Division One trapdoor again this year, did enough to emerge from the round-robin stages and snatched victories from the jaws of defeat against Kildare and Armagh to reach the last four.
The consensus is that the road will stop here for Monaghan, who have not featured in an All-Ireland final since 1930.
However, having relegated Dublin to Division Two with a thrilling Clones win the last time the counties met, they will not be daunted by the size of the task this evening.

Even though you would feel from the quarter-finals that Kerry and Dublin are slightly ahead of the other teams, I still think that it's going to be a difficult weekend for both of those teams.

Of course, some late changes.
Paddy Small is in for Sean Bugler for Dublin. Bugler is not in the Dublin matchday squad.
Three changes for Monaghan, the most eye-catching of which sees Conor McManus start. Jack McCarron makes way.
Darren Hughes and Kieran Hughes are both in from the start for Monaghan, too, with Ryan O'Toole and Karl Gallagher dropping out as Vinny Corey plumps for experience.
