Japan's rugby sevens have a lucky mascot and I'm able to grab a quick word with him. He's got nothing to say but a spokesman said he's too distraught after not bringing the team any luck today in 40-0 defeat to Great Britain and a 45-0 loss to Canada. There's always tomorrow, there's always tomorrow.
Quote of the day? US eventer Clark Montgomery: "Since we got here, we've gone out to the beach, the big Jesus or whatever you call it, all that good stuff."
That's Christ the Redeemer Clark. A fairly well known landmark...
Men's lightweight round of 32
Steve Bunce
BBC Sport boxing pundit speaking on Radio 5 live
It was a good performance from Joe Cordina. I think mentally he let it slip a little in the second but the better quality work in the last round got him over the line. He's settled the nerves and done well there.

That's on TV.
But of course you can watch anything you want online, or on your tablet, or phone.
Men's lightweight round of 32
Split decision! In favour of Joe Cordina!
It really was a close bout, but Cordina put in the cleaner work - or at least two judges thought as much anyway.
Well, that wasn't a bad fight for a round of 32, was it?
The Welshman will have really earned his corn if he makes it to the final off that evidence.
Men's lightweight round of 32
Who can nick it in the last?
Two right uppercuts from Cordina in the first minute rock Suarez's head, but don't stop him from hustling and bustling.
Styles make fights, and these two fit each other perfectly, counter-puncher and aggressor.
Cordina looks to have landed the cleaner shots in this last round to my eyes though. Has he done enough? I think so, just.
This is extraordinary. Top effort.
Men's lightweight round of 32
Two judges sided with Cordina in that first round, one with Suarez. It was close.
Effective counter-punching in the second by the Cardiff lad, before he gets caught with a right by the ever-marching-forward Suarez.
A left hook from Cordina prompts some Muhammad Ali-style footwork from his opponent, flashy.
Another close round - yep, two judges side with Suarez this time, one with Cordina.
All level going into the last, cracking fight this.
Tonight's main action - when it comes to medals anyway - is in the pool.
Are you all staying up with me for the swimming? The finals start at around 02:00 BST.
Come on!
French tennis ace Jo-Wilfried Tsonga dropped the first set against Malek Jaziri today before coming through to win, and he admitted that he feared that his Olympics were over.
"I was very concerned because it's probably my last Olympic Games. The next one is in four years and I don't know if I will still be able to keep my level at this stage.
"So I didn't want to go out of these Olympic Games without taking pleasure. And today I was really close (to losing). So I just tried to do better."

Ronald McIntosh
BBC boxing commentator in Rio
He really is a talented individual, Joe Cordina.
He can box on the front foot and the back foot equally effectively.
Men's lightweight round of 32
Fast start from Joe Cordina against Charly Suarez, letting off his right hand freely and using his footwork to stay out of range.
Suarez is a bustling opponent though, looking to get on the inside.
Interesting first round.

Eating hula hoops counts as a sport in my eyes - anyone else got any late night snacks that are in any way Olympic related?
A Viscount is basically a medal. Right?
Let us know on #bbcrio2016
You have hula hoops, that's close enough to something related to gymnastics. We'll allow it.
Bullet found in equestrian media centre
Mario Andrada, comms director at Rio 2016, has confirmed that the bullet found in the equestrian media centre was 'stray' and had nothing to do with the Olympics.
“Authorities are investigating – where it comes from, how it came here," Andrada said in a news conference a little earlier.
"The first information that we got that we can clearly determine is that this area was not a target, it was a stray bullet, it was nothing to do with the Games, but they can not be more precise at the moment."
Women's epee
It's a third gold medal for Hungary in the women's epee in the last six Olympics!
Emese Szasz beats Rossella Fiamingo of Italy 15-13.
Emese Szasz has just edged ahead in the women's epee final. It's been nip and tuck all the way so far but the Hungarian is close to gold now...
