The Aussie mischief just got political.

To a slow tune they chant: "BREXIT, BREXIT!!"

No sooner do they end the chant does Alex Danson slam one in. Cue some noise from the GB contingent some 30ft away. 

Here's how Lily Owsley gave GB the lead earlier in their match against Australia. 

It was a thrashing handed out by the men of the United States earlier on and her comes the quote of the night from Carmelo Anthony: "We wanted to send a message to the rest of the world that we mean business."

What a finish! GB were guilty of overplaying as Alex Danson decides not to hit it first time but go around the keeper, the angle has gone but she manages to smash it home with the back of the stick!

GB lead. 

Ukraine’s Oleg Verniaiev puts together an impeccable routine in the parallel bars to earn himself the highest score of the day!

GB have responded well to that Australia equaliser, they are piling on the pressure. They've just had a penalty corner flicked off the line and now Australia have had a player sent to the sin bin.

There's a chance of a medal for Team GB in the men's 400m individual medley - which gets under way at 02:03 BST.

Max Litchfield, 21, is in lane two but it looks like being a USA v Japan race for gold.

Not world record holder Michael Phelps - he has not entered the race this year - or reigning champion Ryan Lochte.

It's Chase Kalisz of the US against Japanese swimmer Dalya Seto.

Those pair qualified comfortably quicker than the rest of the field. 

The IM is two lengths of butterfly, two of backstroke, two of breaststroke and then two of freestyle. Absolutely gruelling...

That penalty corner proves costly for GB as Australia level it up. An absolute pearler too, Georgina Morgan flicking it high into the net to level it up.

Just over 10 minutes to go in the third quarter.

Game on. The British and Aussie players have swigged some water, munched electrolyte-packed sweets and listened to a tactical masterclass. Now it is back to business. 

The second half is under way. And Australia have an early penalty corner...

Lily Owsley was a talented 800m runner before focusing on hockey. She's like a flash onto the flick on and bingo, the world's seventh best side lead the the world number three Aussies.

Lovely to see every GB player bar the goalkeeper run to join in the celebrations. They need to be careful though, less than a minute later and their woodwork is rattled as Adam Commens' side go close from a penalty corner.

Half time and this would do very nicely for GB. This is what all that work at Bisham Abbey has been for. They've dug in, stuck at it early on and now look like a confident side.

So far so good. Great Britain survive the final few minutes of the second period to lead at half-time. Australia are ranked third in the world - four places above their British opponents.

Boxer Lawrence Okolie was one of three Brits to win today, and he's come out with a decent line:

"To become a legend, you have to do legendary stuff. This is just part of the journey to be a legend.

"If I manage to win, then I deserve it. It's not about scraping a medal or getting lucky. It's about wanting to beat everyone. If I can beat everyone in front of me, I get gold. If I don't, I don't deserve it."

The weightlifting final is coming to an end. Just a few athletes left in the competition.
