Dead-eye Ling right now. He's been to a few fairgrounds in his time I reckon.

He nails the next three to lead 8-5 with six shots left.

His opponent David Kostelecky looks rattled.

GB lose semi-final to NZpublished at 19:22 British Summer Time 8 August 2016

Everything that could have gone wrong went wrong for Team GB there against the world number one team.

Two sin bins and five tries conceded is gruesome reading as they go down 25-7 to New Zealand, who will face Australia in the final at 23:00 BST.

GB v Canada for bronze is at 22:30 BST.

No time to feel sorry for yourselves. Up and at em.

Britain's Johanna Konta beat France's Caroline Garcia 6-2 6-3 to progress to the third round.

"I think I dealt with the conditions as well as I could. The weather fluctuates very quickly. All the players had to work very hard in being able to adjust. I was happy to do that, stay tough and come through a few of those. I'm fighting every point, and running it hard.

"The best way to deal with the scheduling demands is to just roll with the punches. It's an Olympic Games, not a normal tour. The scheduling will be tricky. I just really try to enjoy it for what it is. I'm grateful to be here. I get to say I'm an Olympian. I look after my recovery and that's it. I'm here to compete. I'm really enjoying being part of the whole thing."

Everybody must marvel at this New Zealand team, the passing, the way they do not lose the ball. You give the ball away to this team and you will get caught out. To play against the likes of Australia and New Zealand you have to keep possession.

  13. Try for NZpublished at 19:17 British Summer Time 8 August 2016

    Women's rugby sevens semi

Even with seven women on the pitch GB can't stop New Zealand.

Huriana Manuel scrambles through a tackle to touch down and put NZ 25-7 up. How much confidence will this drain from the GB women before a bronze medal match?

Well, no gold medal for GB it would seem. With two fewer players, GB are scrambling but there's holes everywhere and Portia Woodman has no problem heading to the corner for her hat-trick.

    NZ lead 20-7.

GB are now back up to seven players.

Amy Wilson-Hardy is a lovely placid character to talk to.

Put her on a field and she's brutal. That mid-air tackle to slam into Ruby Tui was rhino-like.

Her yellow card was costly though as the All Blacks exploited the overlap like All Blacks do.

In case you missed it, Great Britain's Nick Dempsey is leading the opening series of the men's RS:X windsurfing after two races - but that's not the only event with British interest over at Marina de Gloria.

Bryony Shaw finished seventh in race one of the women's RS:X windsurfing, before placing 20th in race two.

Meanwhile, Alison Young was 13th in race one of the women's Laser Radial; race two has just got underway in that event.

  19. rugby sevens

GB lose two playerspublished at 19:11 British Summer Time 8 August 2016

Oh it's falling apart for GB.

With seconds remaining in the first half they see Katy McLean (shirt pull) and Amy Wilson Hardy (tackle in the air) are sent to the sin bin - so for two minutes (or thereabouts) GB have five players against seven.

To rub salt into the wounds, Portia Woodman crosses for New Zealand before the half-time whistle to give them a 15-7 lead.

The roars go up here with each try and then in between there's almost a tense hush.

On the bench in front of me there's a visible fist clench as that second try is touched down.

Whoever wins this will have to dig deep within.
