Semi-final one, seven minutes each way, medals on the line, let's see if Canada, hammered by Great Britain yesterday, can beat arguably the best side we've seen so far in Australia.

"Let's go Canada let's go," is the chant.

Siobhan-Marie O'Connor has bossed her heat to finish first and qualify for the semi-finals. Some seriously impressive stuff from the Brit to finish with 2:08.44.

It was a tougher heat for Hannah Miley however, who had the 2012 gold and silver medalists to contend with. She managed to qualify in 12th. Hungary's 'Iron Lady,' Katinka Hosszu, was seriously impressive as she set a new Olympic Record with 2:07.45.

Britain's Nick Dempsey has made it two wins from two in the men's RS:X windsurfing at Marina de Gloria.

And - as in race one - he once again finishes ahead of Greece's Vyron Kokkalanis in second place.

A perfect start by all accounts.

Race three of twelve in the opening series is scheduled to get underway at 19:05 BST.

I have one piece of advice for you. Get the dinner on, do your chores, talk to your family now - get it all out the way, because we have a small respite before things get serious.

    • 19:00 BST - GB women v NZ in rugby sevens semi-finals
    • 19:00 BST - Ed Ling begins final stages of men's trap in bid for medal
    • 20:00 BST - Tom Daley & Dan Goodfellow in 10m platform synchronised diving
    • 20:00 BST - GB men in gymnastics team final

There are four potential medals for GB there - you don't want to go anywhere.

Brilliant stuff from Paul Drinkhall. He's fended off a comeback from Croatia's Andrej Gacina and is the first Briton into the last 16 of the men's table tennis since 1992 and only the third ever with a 4-2 win.

So let's put that opening victory for GB's Nick Dempsey in the men's RS:X windsurfing into a bit of context for you.

The first stage of the competition is an opening series of twelve races - the first of which Dempsey has won.

The competitors accrue points after each race equivalent to where they finish (eg. one point for finishing first).

The 10 boats with the lowest totals from the twelve races of the opening series progress to the medal race, in which double points are added to the overall scores.

    Simple, eh?
