Lizzie Armitstead will be on the women's road race startline at 16:15 BST.

It looks like very different weather from that in which she won silver at London 2012. That was rain in biblical proportions.

How do you beat a team like Korea?published at 13:30 British Summer Time 7 August 2016

South Korea could win an eighth consecutive women's archery team title today. They are in quarter-final action at 14:25.

Since the sport's reintroduction to the Olympics in 1972, South Koreans have won more than half of the available gold medals (19 out of 36).

London 2012 team and individual champion Ki Bo-Bae returns to lead the women's team for Rio.

In terms of nations punching above their weight, it is up there with the All Blacks' record in rugby union.

Read more about South Korea's archery dynasty here from Matt Monaghan's article in 2012.

Fair to say Olympic fans enjoyed their cerveja (beer) on day one of the Games - pretty huge clean up still going on as the spectators for day two's action filter into the park.

Queues seem to be much improved today with a much more steady flow into the venues. If you are coming, fear not, the cerveja supplies are being replenished!

There are suggestions on Twitter that the rowing has been delayed until 14:30 BST at least.

A quick check on my telly box.

Yep. The wait goes on for Britain's golden pair of Heather Stanning and Helen Glover among others.

The International Rowing Federation (FISA) has issued a statement after the rowing was delayed by at least an hour.

"Competition delayed due to weather," read an official statement.

"Competition will not start before 09:30 (13:30 BST)."

It is understood the adverse weather led to issues arising with the Albano buoy system, which marks the race course.

    Fencing

Great Britain haven't won an Olympic medal in fencing for more than half a century... but there are hopes that could all change in Rio.

Today it begins with James David, Lawrence Halstead and Richard Kruse, who are all in men's individual foil action from 13:00 BST.

Davis and Kruse (below) are both ranked in the world's top 10, and the latter won gold at the Havana Grand Prix in March.

However, world number one Alexander Massialas was in imperious form at June's Shanghai Grand Prix, and the 22-year-old American will take some beating.

We have a live aerial shot of Lagoa - Rio 2016's rowing venue - and, even from afar, it looks choppy on the water.

It's a stunning location, but I suspect the rowers would quite happily have their regatta somewhere a little further inland, a little less picturesque and a little calmer.
