Great Britain have qualified for the final of the 4x200m freestyle relay after winning their heat by 0.43 seconds ahead of the United States, with Russia third. Duncan Scott, who earlier broke a British record in the 100m freestyle heats, will join Stephen Milne, Robbie Renwick and Dan Wallace for the final, which takes place at 03:38 BST on Wednesday.

GB, USA, and Russia are joined by Germany, Japan, Australia, Belgium, and the Netherlands in the medal contest.

I'm basically saying that you're not likely to get much done over the next couple of hours. So, if you have to phone grandma, put the kids to bed, catch Pokemon or iron a shirt for work tomorrow, do it now.

"I played some lineback when I played American football which is a position where you had a bit of speed," he told BBC Radio 5 Live. 

"I think it is quite like the game. Also the sevens is so much more speed. 

"Yesterday the ladies went out there and America used their speed in the second half to hit the gaps. I’m enjoying the game."

Rarer than a dodo's egg, Johanna Konta finally manages to hold serve. Still, she needs to take one off Kuznetsova's serve if she is to get back in this match.

Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey is hanging out at the rugby sevens, and has been speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live about his Olympics experience.

"I’m loving it," he said. "It’s obviously very festive. 

"Once you get into the game or the event – getting to and from is not the easiest thing – but once the party has started you're not going to throw a better one than Brazil.

"This is my movie. I came over with my wife and I'll be here for a week. I’ve got five movies coming out – Gold, which is appropriate!"

There's been plenty of talk about the state of Guarabana Bay but what a venue to watch sailing for the spectators. Park yourself under an umbrella, grab a beer, lay back and watch it all unfold in front of you. 

Sailing is a notoriously difficult sport to watch in real time but the Finn race is in the foreground and the big screen and accompanying commentary is keeping an international crowd up to date on the other races.

Beautiful view here and the British supporters are loving it. Many have their feet out of their shoes as they sit to take in the sun with a beer or soft drink. I can see a British flag with 'Harrogate' written across it, it's one of many.

Hopefully this image gives you an idea of the size of this venue. The course and practice course contain 25 million litres of water combined. 

With venues so lavish, you can see why not a single Games has been delivered on budget since 1960, according to the Financial Times.

What will become of this venue afterwards? You do have to wonder.

Hmmmm, this isn't looking great for Johanna Konta. She is broken in the first game of the second set (a fourth break of her serve in the match) as an overhead smash flies wide by the tiniest margin. Under the odd sight of blue sky and floodlights, the Briton is teetering on the edge.
