    Gymnastics: Men's all-around final

Great Britain's Max Whitlock could well be celebrating an Olympic medal in the next 30 minutes.

With one piece of apparatus left in the men's all-around final, he is third, with only his floor routine to come, after an effort of 14.700 on the high bar. It is so close though, he can not afford any mistakes to stay in the top three.

Ukraine's Oleg Verniaiev, the European champion last year, has one hand on the gold after a huge score of 16.100, the highest from any gymnast on any apparatus in this final, on the parallel bars. Japan's Kohei Uchimura, the reigning Olympic champion, is still second.

Tactically they have played it very, very, well. They are two evenly matched sides

Great Britain's Rebekah Tiler finished tenth in the women's -69kg weightlifting earlier today, but she is relishing her Olympic experience.

"I'm going to get in the pool, meet a lot of other athletes and get a load of selfies. I want to get one with Usain Bolt - I've been trying for ages," she said.

"I've been on a diet so now I can chill out and eat pizzas and brownies and stuff - all the nice food.

"This Olympics is all about experience and getting used to that kind of environment

"It was just an amazing experience, just getting on that platform with everyone screaming your name."

Discipline will be key tonight. In every game of sevens I've seen, a yellow card and a sin binning usually means defeat.

Captain Tom Mitchell has to scurry back 50 yards to cover a testing kick, and he does it brilliantly.
