We've had a bullet land in the equestrian media centre and now a bus stoned or potentially shot at, you'd be forgiven for thinking things are a little bit out of hand here.

But on the way into Deodoro we are served a reminder of how tight security is as our car is stopped and searched. The boot is opened and inspected and after a short delay, we are allowed to proceed.

He has gone out hard, pushing hard into the very first corner to hunt any half-seconds he can.

After today's postponement, the revised rowing schedule is out and it means tomorrow is packed with four GB crews competing in finals - the men's quad, the men's pair, the women's double sculls and the men's double sculls.

The defending champions in the women's pair - Helen Glover and Heather Stanning, plus the men's four also contest their semis while Alan Campbell must wait until Friday before taking part in his singles sculls semi.

Let's hope the weather is better than today, and if so, could we see a GB medal rush?

A taxi ride to Deodoro for another manic day is eye opening.

These Games as we know have stoked controversy in Brazil, a country with no end of issues right now.

Our driver explains to me that he lost his job in banking last year and "it's very difficult" to get back in. The bank wiped out half the workforce he says.

The games cost around £10bn, some say more, and the driver thinks it's just not good timing.

"There are 12 million people without a job and 70% of the population are poor," he adds.
