I've just had a chat with some Team GB staff and they think Amber Hill will need to shoot 23/25 in the last round of qualifying to attain a total of 70.

I'm told the Italian and American athletes will be tough to beat and that conditions are tough due to wind carrying the clays higher than normal.

Hill stands a great chance but the sense is we should take nothing for granted just yet. She's fifth, six go through.

The Estadio Olimpico still in shock after that 10,000m final. 18 personal bests in that field. Leaders through 5k in 14.46, and then knocking out a negative split of 14.31 in the second half. A world record from a questionable era smashed by 14 seconds, by a woman racing over the distance for only the second time in her life. Remarkable.

Remarkable indeed. Expect several column miles of remarks to delve into that result.

    Sir Steve Redgrave
Five-time Olympic rowing champion on BBC TV

Asked how the 2016 men's fours win compared to Britain's four previous victories in the event, Redgrave said:

"You have to be better than the year before and the five years before. If you stay the same you will not stay in the same position.

"If we were side by side, our best against their best, we would be struggling to get into a final that is how much it moves on.

"They’re better athletes. They row better, train better and make their boat go faster.
