BBC Sport in RioYou have to feel for the single scullers like Britain's Alan Campbell. Not only do they have to pull themselves across 2000m all by themselves, but they have to contend with the greatest number of rounds too.
Take the eights for example, win your heat and you're through to the final. But London 2012 bronze medallist Campbell has already contended with a heat, and a quarter-final before today's semi as he aims for another chance of glory in tomorrow's final.

shooting Did you know?published at 13:48 British Summer Time 12 August 2016

BBC Sport in RioShooters practice being in as relaxed a state as possible. Research has shown the intuitive right side of the brain takes over before a shot, rather than the analytical left side.
For this reason some shooters advocate distraction training. This is where they think of something else and let their muscle memory take over for the shot, thus preventing over thinking it.
It’s been shown that it’s best to hold your breath on shooting and to shoot between heartbeats. The biggest thing facing a shooter it seems is themselves.
