The partisan crowd demand hush as home favourite Arthur Zanetti, bronze medalist in the floor, prepares for his chance to shine on the rings.

So far so good, incredible strength, and then he twists, he turns, plants his feet firmly on the mat and the Brazilians erupt.

"Brazil! Brazil!" the spectators scream as they wait for the judges' score and then it comes, a spine-tingling roar, as they learn their man has won silver.

Charlotte Dujardin tells us she was aware of the marriage proposal her partner Dean made from the stands.

"He already knows it's yes," she tells 5 live's Jonathan Agnew. "He's already asked me, he's just looking for me to say 'yes' more."

Some day. Olympic gold and a repeat proposal. What next?

Very soon, gymnastics medalists Max Whitlock and Louis Smith will be live on the BBC Sport Facebook page., external I suspect you'll be able to put your questions to them. How heavy is having two gold medals around your neck? Do you ever feel a bit poorly when you're upside down?

That's an outstanding question, Andrew. If someone cares to work that one out for me, shout up. If you could express it in the form of a fancy graphic, all the better.

2-1 down with 48 seconds left, they won 3-2. If you missed it, watch it again here.

No such trouble for the German women, who beat USA 2-1.

  10. Can Murphy win a historic gold for Ireland?published at 18:17

Alison Young's chances of winning a second GB medal in the sailing are remote but Ireland's Annalise Murphy stands on the brink of creating a piece of history.

The 26-year-old is third in the overall Laser Radial standings, two points behind second place, with the medal race offering double points. And should she finish on the podium, she would win a first Irish sailing medal in 36 years, and would be the first female sailor to do so.

The previous success came at the Moscow Olympics where David Wilkins and James Wilkinson won silver in the 'Flying Dutchman' class.

We are still waiting for the Laser medal races to get under way.

Here we are, back in the arena where Max Whitlock created history on Super Sunday. Can watching a Briton become a double Olympic champion be topped? It's unlikely but we can still enjoy the spectacle.

And the extraordinary Simone Biles is going for her fourth gold of the Games, of course.

Throughout the dressage contest British and German flags were almost intertwined. The two nations shared the event from the stands.

Suddenly, after an event in which Great Britain head two German challengers, the crowd has separated by some margin. We are left wondering why Great Britain fans took the decision to split by walking 50 metres upon the conclusion of competition.

We will stay clear of Brexit talk but did it kick off in there?

Valegro's part owner Carl Hester on BBC One: "He has a brain like a human. You just feel like you press his buttons and he gets on with his job.

"He makes everything look so smooth. Charlotte is amazing – the way she sits on a horse, the way she can communicate with the horse.

"I have never cried watching dressage but I cried today. This horse has done more for the world of dressage and British dressage. If she feels she has achieved all she can I would more be happy to say to her let him go out into a field and enjoy his days.

"You know what this horse enjoys more than this? Eating!"

"He's won everything there is to win. I want people to remember him as the most amazing horse that he is.

"I didn't want to keep going until there's nothing left. I could be greedy but I don't want to be greedy. He still loves his job. I just want everyone to remember him at the top."
