It's a toasty 28C at the Olympic Park, the smell on suncream is in the air, and silly headwear are everywhere. These Olympics fans will put anything on their heads. And, not that I'm one to tell tales, but some are drinking beer - on a Tuesday afternoon!

  9. Skinner into semi-finals. As it standspublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Keirin

Great Britain's Callum Skinner crossed the line first in the repechage race, but there is a question as to whether he might have dropped down the banking a little early and squeezed out an American rival.

He's through as it stands. But he might be wise to keep an eye on the officials discussions in the centre of the track.

Jack Laugher will be a lucky boy if he makes it through to this evening's final...

The best 12 divers will make it through but he has had a mixed competition so far.

We have seen some brilliance and some howlers...

Laugher is 13th after five rounds. He needs a big last attempt.

Can Perkovic hold her nerve?published at 15:36 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Women's discus final

    Sandra PerkovicImage source, Getty Images

There are few stronger favourites for athletics gold in Rio than Croatia’s Sandra Perkovic in the women's discus final.

The Olympic champion and winner of all five Diamond League contests in 2016, this time last summer the Croat arrived in China on the back of a winning run stretching back to 2010.

However, the expected gold medal procession ended up being spoilt by Cuba’s surprise world champion Denia Caballero.

Both Perkovic and Caballero almost missed reaching the final after fouling their first two attempts in qualifying on Monday, although the torrential rain falling in Rio at the time was at least partly responsible for their difficulties.

Perkovic has opened with another no-throw in the big one.
