Kelly Pierce: Poor form from the crowd there! Booing the medalists is not on at all!!

Jesc Bunyard: He's crying on the podium now. This has clearly affected him. Worked for four years to be booed.

Fiona Lapham: Disgusting to hear a crowd booing an athlete receiving a medal. Should be ashamed. That poor man!

Not quite as nice a moment, though, was the reception for Renaud Lavillenie, who won pole vault silver.

The Frenchman got the football crowd treatment yesterday, getting booed as the crowd tried to act as the 12th man and help their Thaigo Braz Da Silva in his quest for gold. Lavillenie was not best pleased with the antics, and had a bit of a pop., external

As a result there were boos as he received his medal. A very upsetting moment for him as he looked to be fighting back the tears.

What a moment inside the Olympic Stadium. Thiago Braz Da Silva won Brazil's first athletics gold since 2008 when he won the pole vault final yesterday.

He climbs onto the top step of the podium and there's huge cheers as his name is announced. He then salutes as the Brazilian national anthem is played.

    National hero status beckons.

GB's Lawrence Clarke, who failed to qualify for the 110m hurdles final: "I had a go for it, I was in the lane next to the world number one and he got out.

"I was going well in the first bit of the race, I pressed and took the risks, hit two hurdles and it wasn't to be. It's been an amazing journey to get here.

"It's quite emotional because this is my last Olympics. In one I came fourth, in London, and a semi-final at another. I can't complain."

Robbie Grabarz fails with his first attempt at 2.25m, his foot just clipping the bar.

The post midnight (UK time) Olympics hasn't been as good for the Brits as what went on before.

As a Game of Thrones fan, I am absolutely delighted that there is a chap called Bran Starc in the high jump final.

If someone tells me there is also a wrestler called Hodor then this will officially be the best Olympics ever.

He cleared 2.20m with his second attempt. It's 2.25m next.

One Briton down, one to go. Lawrence Clarke has the chance to salvage some British pride. He's in lane eight for the second semi-final.

Nope, that's two Britons gone. He finishes sixth in a time of 13.67 seconds. Not enough.

Jamaica's Omar McLeod - the world number one - cruises to victory in 13.15 seconds, with second-placed Pascal Martinot-Lagarde of France assured of joining him in the final.

Andy Pozzi is understandably devastated by his performance.

"I don't quite understand it. All season I have been consistent and ran better than that. It was terrible viewing and I can only apologise."

Crash! Bang! Wallop! More fences are going over in the Olympic Stadium than on an estate in gale force winds.

Andy Pozzi clatters into about four hurdles, eventually finishing fifth. No place in the final for him.

"That was terrible viewing, I can only apologise," a crestfallen Pozzi tells BBC Sport.

The Briton finishes in a well below par 13.67 seconds.
