    Men's keirin

Jason Kenny looks a bit wild-eyed and confused just before he steps onto the podium. Maybe the magnitude of his achievement is taking a while to sink in.

But he knows the drill by now. Britain's SIX-time Olympic champion, brow still sweating, breaks into a wide smile when his name is announced. Huge cheers as he waves his latest bit of bling to the crowd.

So, let's get our head around Jack Laugher's prospects here.

He is awaiting the dive of China's Cao Yuan, who needs 73.15 to replace Laugher in gold position.

All of the Chinese athlete's dives have scored higher than that, so it's likely to be silver for Laugher.

But hey, stranger things have happened.

Dive six for Laugher, a back three and a half somersaults.

He could win a medal with this...

    88.20! He's guaranteed a silver medal!

If China's Cao Yuan scores less than 73.15 points on his final dive, Laugher gets gold.

    Watch here.

None of that business until we're knee-deep in your gold medals.

And then, and only then, can you and Jason proceed to create a small army of cycling Gods.

Six-time gold medallist Jason Kenny on BBC One: "I turned up in a funny mood, I was happy, I don’t know what was wrong today. It felt like a dream. I was so tired I was floating through it. It was brilliant.

"It is pretty mental (matching Sir Chris Hoy). I was there in Bejing and knew it was special and as the years have gone by I appreciated how amazing he was then and to do same it is amazing."

Ten medals for him and Laura Trott. "Not a bad trip," Kenny adds.

Six-time Olympic cycling champion on BBC One

That was a test of character. You can do all the reps in the gym but it is character and it is just fantastic to see the smile on his face. It is a really special moment.

When he came on the team before Beijing we knew he was special but I don’t think we realised how special he was going to be.
