Not only are Kyle Evans and Liam Phillips going in the BMX seeding races, but there is also British interest in the women's 10m platform qualifying. Tonia Couch and Sara Barrow are looking to progress with Barrow lying fifth after one dive and Couch ninth.

Qualifying isn't the be all and end all but it is great for confidence if you put in a good time and psychologically score some points over your rivals.

A plus side for Edzus Treimanis - he probably won't have to do any media given he crash landed so far away. Every cloud.

    Wipeout!published at 19:05 British Summer Time 17 August 2016

We have our first wipeout. Latvia's Edzus Treimanis made it about 50ft from the ramp and then landed hard on the back wheel. Big air. Too big.

A cracking "ooohhh" from the crowd. He looks lost, then thinks his best tactic is to wave and just accept that he briefly looks like a bit of a plonker.

No need for that ambulance I showed you earlier thankfully. Old Edzus is right as rain. Well, physically at least.

That is the worst place to crash. At least he is up on his feet but it didn't look good.

It is not the ideal way to start your Olympic campaign.

The first crash! Latvia's Edzus Treimanis stacks it and whacks his head on the floor. The helmet saves him a nasty injury, but there's still claret coming from his forehead.

Mixed feelings for Evans?published at 19:00 British Summer Time 17 August 2016

That's a fairly clean run for Kyle Evans. He looked to take corners smoothly and sixth is no disaster thus far.

The Wigan-born rider could slide a bit though as riders come out according to their world ranking, so the best are yet to come.

I don't think Kyle will be delighted with that but he won't be overly disappointed.

It is good to get your first ride out and get rid of the nerves.

35.776 seconds for the Briton. That's the sixth-fastest time so far, with more than half of the 32-man field to go. This just determines the seedings, remember.

There's a superb atmosphere at Radical Park for the  BMX now despite the venue being around 40% full by my estimation.

The flags appear from all angles as Brazilian Renato Rezende finishes third fastest of the male riders so far. There will be 32 competitors in all.

Before each rider goes there's a moment of silence where the tannoy takes over and as soon as the gate goes down and the ramp is descended, the music blares out. Feel the noise.

The rout is complete. Neymar scores his second, this time an injury-time penalty, to give Brazil a sixth.

In their last semi-final on home soil, Brazil lost 7-1. Now they are going to win 6-0. 7-7 on aggregate.

    Men's semi-final: Brazil 5-0 Honduras (79 minutes)

It is 5-0 for Brazil in their semi-final against Honduras. Luan taps into an open goal from close range after a fine run from substitute Felipe Anderson.

Ten minutes to go. Brazil are definitely in the Olympic final. Germany and Nigeria play each other for the right to join them later on tonight.
