The second GB athlete in this final, Lorraine Ugen, also gets the crowd in a swirl with her samba rhythms.

It's all fun and games at the moment - the competition hasn't started yet.

Brittney Reese of the US is nailed on favourite for gold.

Jazmin Sawyers looks like a gymnast, she is short and has the broad shoulders. Hopefully she can pull it out today and do something good.

Jazmin Sawyers is absolutely loving being in the Olympic final. A beaming smile as her name is announced, a huge leap into the air and a dance to the samba band.

That's how you do a final.

    Where's Daley Thompson? You're up.

It's the men's 400m heats in the decathlon next on track. These incredible individuals will be looking to take as many points as they can.

Ashton Eaton leads with 3616 points so far, Damian Warner is second on 3548 and amazingly Jeremy Taiwo is just ONE point further back.

One point. That must be worth an infinitely small amount of time in the 400m...

Women's long jump final (From 01:15 BST)

There's a touch of controversy in the sand tonight. And it comes in the form of Darya Klishina.

AKA the only Russian in town.

Russian track and field athletes were banned from the Olympics following claims the country ran a state-sponsored doping programme.

But Klishina, 10th in the 2015 World Championships, has been cleared to compete in her first Olympics as her drugs-testing record was established in the United States, where she is based, rather than in Russia.

Innocent party? She could be judged by the public anyway.

From what we’ve witnessed tonight there are medals out there because people are feeling the pressure, they’re hitting hurdles and destroying their chances.
