    "The first thing I wanted when I got back to the hotel was a burger, beer and then cake," he says. "I've had a good day. I've done a triathlon and had a burger. All good."

    What about later? A few cocktails? "We're from Yorkshire. Cocktails are not our style."

    The celebrations begin! Argentina are the Olympic champions for the first time. Belgium are absolutely crushed, but the Argentines are going bonkers. One injured player is even running on with his leg in plaster. In the stands? Bedlam. Gold for Argentina, silver for Belgium.

    Badminton bronze medal winners Chris Langridge and Marcus Ellis have been speaking to BBC One.

    "We’re honest guys," said Langridge. "We don’t make out to be superstars, we’re not the best on paper but this tournament has been phenomenal, we have wanted it more and showed hunger.

    "We have had people from other team’s saying everyone is taking notice because of the passion we have played with. It means so much to us, we’re so happy and we’re so excited for tomorrow’s medals."
