Britain's Morgan Lake earlier qualified for the women's high jump final with a clearance of 1.94m.

"I got it done and I’m really happy to be in the final," said the 19-year-old. "That is what I came to do and now I will see what I can do now

"Training has been going well but that is different to competition. There was a lot of nerves, I didn’t get much sleep and I knew I could jump 1.94m, but doing it in a competition is two different things."

Our colleagues at BBC Radio 5 live are hosting a special Olympic social programme tonight. It starts at 21:30 BST, with presenter Nihal Arthanayake being joined by Victoria Pendleton, Steve Parry and Steve Bunce. They're asking for your thoughts on the following questions:

    1) Who will take over Usain Bolt's mantle as the poster boy or girl of track and field presuming the Jamacian superstar doesn't compete at Tokyo 2020?

    2) What is your moment of the 2016 Games? And why?

    3) What can other governing bodies in the UK learn from British Cycling?

Did you see the British domination of the triathlon earlier?

Alistair Brownlee walked over the line to take gold, ahead of brother Jonny.

"I’m used to getting beat by him," Jonny said. "But at the start of the day that was the dream to get gold and silver and that is what we have done.

"We had a plan and really committed and when Alistair pushed on I thought it I would be risking a medal to go with him. To get gold and silver, I was emotional at the end.

"Maybe in four years if he is older and greyer he will be that bit slower - but maybe he won’t be!"

Alistair added: “I said non-committedly that if I win today I might help him win in 2020 but I will go away and see how the body is."

To say Guanabara Bay is busy for the four sailing medal races today is an understatement of the highest order. It's similar to when the front door opens at Selfridges on New Year's Day.

As the 49er race gets under way, I count about 60 additional boats in the water, not counting the 10 actually racing. That includes photographers, broadcasters, officials and marshalls. Once you add in the two helicopters overhead, and the raucous crowd on the beach, it makes for a supercharged spectacle in a breathtaking setting.

For me when waiting for the final I was thinking that it was my last fight and to give it my best.

I had ice baths, physio and lots of recovery. Nicola is one in million. She is a cool cat and will be relaxing for the fight come to win gold and she is nearly there.

Nicola makes things look easy even though they are all phenomenal fighters.

She is making history and doing it with a smile on her face. I think she will repeat what she did in 2012, she has two days to fuel up her engine.

We know for certain that there will be at least two silvers added to that GB tally. Both the women's hockey team and Nicola Adams will win silver at least in their respective finals.

That bout was interesting. I am sure Nicola will be familiar with Sarah Ourahmoune, the French and British spar a lot together.

I think Nicola will control her with jabs and keep busy to not give her an opportunity to attack.

A lot of the counter punchers seem to have got the decisions in the competition so it would be good for Nicola even if there is not much action that she still looks to be the busier fighter.

It'll be France fighter Sarah Ourahmoune for Nicola Adams on Saturday for the gold medal.

She squeezed through on split decision. Small in frame, she won't have any reach advantage that's for sure. A good set of biceps on show though so packing a punch. At 34, she's a year older than Adams.

A final for the experienced then.

Sitting on board the TV boat, the crew have a brief moment to reflect on interviewing Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark after their gold medal in the 470 race.

In choppy and busy waters, the boat driver Sergio used all his expertise to pull up alongside the GB pair so Shirley Robertson could speak to them live on TV, while Tim Butt the cameraman had to keep steady to deliver the joyous moment.

"When does it sink in?" Clark asked double Olympic champion Robertson.

"It was a lovely moment," Robertson says afterwards. "You get to capture that raw emotion and see how delighted they were."
