Adams has got to improve her accuracy a little here.

That is a great start. Adams has got to maintain that but the accuracy with the left hand will be crucial.

For Nicola she is such a bubbly person. In the fights she was fighting early in the competition she was fresh.

It will be interesting to see how her body is. Hopefully her legs aren't heavy and shoulders too sore.

She has already passed her toughest in the competition test against Ren Cancan.

GB's Nicola Adams looks like she doesn't have a care in the world as she struts to ringside - banging her gloves together, grinning that trademark grin.

Of all the Olympic venues I've been at, nowhere does copy and paste quite like the boxing. Every session has the same playlist before matches, the same entertainers. No change anywhere. 

They love Dr Dre every time though. When he plays out, the locals sway. Rap samba.

Nicola Adams' mum, Dee, has given some full-on mum support before the gold medal match.

“I can’t wait for her to get that gold medal and bring it home to Leeds," she told the Yorkshire Post., external

“She is so proud of being from Yorkshire and coming from Leeds.

“All Nicola wanted was to be a world champion and now she will hopefully be an Olympic champion twice.

“There’s no words that can describe how I feel now, being a proud mum - it’s just such an incredible feeling.”

That smile. It was indelibly painted across the memory of London 2012.

Britain's Nicola Adams was the first ever women's Olympic boxing champion when she took gold four years ago.

But that broad grin has faded at times between then and now.

In the ring, it's been business as usual - 2014 Commonwealth Games champion, 2015 European Games champion and 2016 world champion.

But out of the squared circle it's been a bit tougher. Shoulder surgery in 2014 put her out of action for a while and last year a collection of Olympic souvenirs were stolen from her family home in Leeds.

That smile's back though - hopefully it will light up Rio when she goes for gold in a few minutes.

We arrive at the boxing venue all expecting gold for Nicola Adams at 18:00 BST.

Her opponent - Sarah Ourahmoune of France - is a tough customer though. At 34, she retires after these Games.

Ourahmoune had a difficult entry into the sport as it was prohibited by law for women to box in France at the time.

"Even my mum went to the gym to tell my coach to persuade me to stop," she says.

Nicola Adams will become the first British boxer to defend an Olympic title since Harry Mallin in 1924 if she can beat France's Sarah Ourahmoune.

Can she do it?
