Women's 400m individual medley
Joy for Britain's Aimee Wilmott, who has made it through to the women's 400m individual medley final in what is her third and final Olympics.
Men's road race
Great Britain's Geraint Thomas saw his medal hopes in the men's road race dashed after crashing for a second successive Games as Ecuador's Richard Carapaz won gold at the Tokyo Olympics.
Here's Thomas speaking to BBC TV:
"There was a little metal ridge in the middle of the road and Tao hit that and his front wheel went and his bike was just there, nowhere to go and I hit the floor myself and landed on my right side on the same shoulder that I did in the tour.
"Luckily it stayed in, that was the positive but properly beat up and kind of hit my ankle awkwardly as well. I've been worse but I've been a lot better as well.
"It's frustrating because I've put in a lot of hard work and sacrifice this year but sometimes there's not a lot you can do about it."
Japan 0-0 Great Britain
The teams are back out at the Sapporo Dome.
A quick huddle from GB before Nikita Parris gets the second half under way.
Here's hoping for some goals!
HT: Japan 0-0 Great Britain
Casey Stoney
Former England and GB international on BBC TV
It's been very cagey, both teams seem like they don't want to lose rather than go and win.
Team GB can utilise their right hand side a lot more if they keep width with Nikita Parris and Lucy Bronze.
I'd like us to be a bit more brave, the midfield to get a little bit higher so we can get more number up against their backline and be more of a threat.
With the eight hour time difference, here's a little taster of what you might have missed through the night in Tokyo if you didn't stay up for the action on the opening day of the Games.
Men's 400m freestyle
Great Britain's Kieran Bird, making his Olympics debut, has missed out on a place in the men's 400m freestyle final.
Australian contenders Elijah Winnington, who is the world number one, and Jack McLoughlin safely made it through.
However, European champion Martin Malyutin, representing ROC, misses out.

The referee blows her whistle in Sapporo after a cagey first 45 minutes. It's all to play for in the second half.
Great Britain 3-1 South Africa
Great Britain's men kicked off their Tokyo 2020 campaign with a 3-1 win over South Africa earlier today.
Here's their third goal, courtesy of Jack Waller.
Japan 0-0 Great Britain
GB's chances have been limited, but another effort falls to Lauren Hemp. Nikita Parris floats in a free-kick and Hemp wins the header, but it's wide and behind for a goal kick.
Men's -60kg judo
Hosts Japan have their first gold medal of the Games!
Naohisa Takato won the men's -60kg judo title, an improvement on the bronze he won five years ago in Rio.
Great Britain 3-1 South Africa
It's a winning start for the GB men in their opening game of the men's hockey tournament.
Goals from Sam Ward, Liam Ansell and Jack Waller give them the victory.
Their next game will be against Canada on Monday.
Japan 0-0 Great Britain
Straight down the other end and it's another chance for Japan. Mina Tanaka finds a pocket of space on the edge of the box and fires a shot inches wide of Ellie Roebuck's post.
Japan 0-0 Great Britain
Sue Smith
Former England international on BBC One
I feel that Team GB need to find Sophie Ingle and Keira Walsh a little bit more because Japan in that 442 system out of possession are so difficult to try and breakdown.
If they get on the ball then they can find the passes to go forward.
Japan 0-0 Great Britain
Lauren Hemp bursts forward through the middle but Japan aren't risking it. Honoka Hayashi bundles down the Manchester City forward and gets a yellow card in the process.
Nothing comes of the free-kick, with Demi Stokes flagged offside.
Great Britain 3-1 South Africa
And Great Britain are on target again in the men's hockey with under five minutes to go. The goal is awarded to Jack Waller but it did take a deflection off a South Africa stick on the way in.
Dubious goals panel, anyone?
Japan 0-0 Great Britain
It's pretty even so far in Sapporo. Both Japan and GB have had decent spells, but there has been just the one shot on target for both sides.
You feel as though Japan would really be lifted by a home crowd. Such a shame there are no fans here to see this one.
Women's 100m butterfly
Back at the Aquatics Centre and Britain's Harriet Jones, part of GB's gold-winning relays at the European Championships earlier this year, has missed out on a place in the semi-finals of the women's 100m butterfly.
China's Zhang Yufei and Emma McKeon, Australia's most successful swimmer in Rio with four medals, recorded the fastest time in the heats.
Japan 0-0 Great Britain
GB goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck's first test comes from Honoka Hayashi, who tries her luck from distance. The shot is on target, but it's not enough to trouble Roebuck.
Great Britain 2-1 South Africa
We're at the end of the third quarter in the men's hockey and Great Britain are still narrowly ahead of South Africa in their opening game in Pool B.
GB started the second half better, scoring through Liam Ansell, and they have looked the stronger as the game has gone on.
We have 15 minutes left.
