Skateboarding - new to the Games - is under way at the Ariake Sports Park.

Its Games debut features two disciplines: street and park. The street course emulates a real street filled with obstacles to perform on, including rails, stairs and benches.

Park takes place on giant concrete bowls with steep, curved walls that help the skaters launch themselves up to three metres in the air and perform mid-air tricks.

Is this the coolest Olympics ever?
