Three of the four from the women's four speak to BBC Sport:

Karen Bennett: "I’m absolutely gutted and I’m so sorry we couldn’t do it. We went out there and did everything we could. We can really hold our heads high but it just wasn’t good enough for that race."

Harriet Taylor: "We just went into it doing our own thing on our stroke without getting distracted by anyone. Almost good it was an outside lane.

"We could see we were in it, but obviously not quite quick enough. That was our absolute best race and we can’t ask for any more than that."

Rebecca Shorten: "That was tough. For most of the race we were up and stayed relaxed but in the last 500m we couldn’t do anymore. We tried to go and they [Ireland] pipped us."

Little bit of breathing space for GB.

The rebound comes down to the path of Lily Owsley - who had earlier been shown a yellow card - to slot home from close range.

But GB hit back immediately, Dan Norton with a solo sprint to the line.

Both sides are still sussing each other out in this first half but New Zealand attack again in the dying seconds, Regan Ware going over.

Great Britain v New Zealand semi-final

Great Britain are taking on New Zealand for a place in the gold medal match at the Tokyo Stadium.

The team news from Tokyo is that captain Tom Mitchell is not involved at all after injuring himself yesterday.

Dan Bibby will captain GB, while Scott Curry will wear the armband for New Zealand. He has delayed his retirement to play in these Games.

New Zealand are unbeaten at these Games while GB have the one blemish on their record against Fiji.

You have to take your chances when they come.

India get two bites of the cherry to draw level with Great Britain thanks to back-to-back penalty corners.

However, neither of them pose a threat to the Rio gold medallists, as the first one is saved and the second, after a review by the TV umpire, is retaken - and denied once again - by Maddie Hinch.

A yellow card is flashed to GB's Lily Owsley, so the 26-year-old is out of action for a minimum of five minutes.
