Seven players in this golf play-off and seven nationalities... where is this bronze medal going?

Right, back to the golf. An official has just explained to the seven men who are set to fight it out for bronze that they'll be split into two groups for the play-off.

In the first are CT Pan (Chinese Taipei), Collin Morikawa (USA), Mito Pereira (Chile) and Sebastian Munoz (Colombia).

The second features Ireland's Rory McIlroy, Great Britain's Paul Casey and Japan's Hideki Matsuyama.

It begins on the 18th and is sudden death, so drop a shot on the first and you're out!

While we're waiting for the golf play-off, let's check in with the tennis.

Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova have moved a step closer to the gold medal, winning the first set 7-5 on Centre Court at the Ariake Tennis arena.

The scoreboard made things look extremely close during the opening stages of the match but the Czech pair hit 22 winners to close it out.

By comparison, Switzerland's Belinda Bencic and Viktorija Golubic managed just eight.

Can Bencic fight back to take her second gold of these Games?

The second set is under way....

It's par for Hideki Matsuyama too. He joins the play-off for bronze, making it a seven-way shootout.

Clubhouse leader Rory Sabbatini, representing Slovakia now instead of South Africa, takes the silver.

Xander Schauffele has given the United States another gold medal.

It is gold and glory and a very special place in his trophy cabinet.

Well done Paul Casey. He makes that putt for par to ensure he will be in that play-off for the bronze.

Hideki Matsuyama's putter again lets him down. He'll have to settle for at least par.

Make yourself comfortable folks, we're heading for a play-off for the bronze.

It will have to be some putt for Casey, but he would have that for his birdie and a chance to take all of those (on 15 under) out of contention for a medal.

Nerves? What nerves? Xander Schauffele floats his approach shot onto the green and it rolls back within a matter of feet of the hole.

That should be enough for par... and the gold medal.

Xander Schauffele's plays out of the rough and onto the fairway. The leader's some way short of the green though.

And it's a good effort from Paul Casey but Hideki Matsuyama's approach shot could have put the Briton out of medal contention.

Blimey, where did Hideki Matsuyama pull that from?!

A superb shot out of the bunker trickles across the green and puts the home favourite within striking range of a birdie.

Over to you Paul and Xander...

Now then. Xander Schauffele's tee shot on the last is a little wayward. It drifts to the right and into the rough.

And Hideki Matsuyama and Paul Casey are both in a bunker. Interesting, very interesting.

Solid, absolutely solid. If Schauffele's palms were sweaty and his hands were shaking, it did not show. He will take a one-stroke lead coming into the last hole.

He's got it... Xander Schauffele is on the money to take a one-shot lead heading to the final tee.

Get in there Paul Casey! The Briton birdies the 17th to grab a share of third place.

But another chance goes begging for the Hideki Matsuyama as the home favourite goes agonisingly close to sinking a birdie putt.

Xander Schauffele is going for a birdie to regain the outright lead with one to play...

Oh no... it's a great effort by Rory McIlroy but it just doesn't drop.

So close to going third outright. We're talking centimetres.
